Good exercise. Preexisting tropes, goals, clichés, and lots of room for creativity. There's a sort of framework already in place, and you just sort of work within it. Like writing based on a set of instructions for an exam. Much more gratifying than struggling to write original content and getting nowhere for A) lack of practice and B) being unable to keep up with the evolution of said content in my head over the years due to lack of practice. With erotica you can just grab this trope and that cliché, add one or two special elements and suddenly you're producing stuff.

The Rewrite
Chapter 2 in And Another One Tinkers With Time
John Smith lives in a student residence. It's state-funded, and the rent includes the water _and_ the electricity bill at a fraction of the normal price, which is nice. There are several types of flats, most of them from 9m² to 13m², and a few studio flats, often reserved for cou...

Chapter 1 in And Another One Tinkers With Time
**I rewrote this chapter. You can read the new one below, "The Rewrite". I'm leaving the old version up out of courtesy for readers who already read, and, for some reason, liked it.** - - - - - - There is such a thing as state-funded student housing in certain countries. It con...

Chapter 22 in The Infernal Machine
"Maybe untie me?" I suggested. Odyssa stood up and approached me, glancing to my cousin as if for approval. She nodded and I was set free. "My head hurts," Charlotte said, "I've had a long morning... I think. What time is it?" "It's a little past midday up there," Odyssa said,...

"Oh my goodness, you spoke to my Mum?" I tried to exclaim in between bouts of coughing, "When?" "Don't pretend you don't know," Charlotte said, "I'm not about to accept it's some coincidence. I remembered I had family here and foolishly outed myself to a True Believer. I suppose...

Chapter 10 in The Infernal Machine
Theo's excursion into other parts of the shop lasted barely half a minute, but it was long enough for him to notice his own brain ticking in strange new ways. He was still at the age of near infinite libidinous capacity. Sex never truly drained him. If his partners were willing h...

Chapter 8 in The Infernal Machine
Enough time passed for snow to pile on my back as before, while I stared dumbly at the front door. It wouldn't open. My key showed no damage or deformity, it entered the lock without resistance, and turned with a nice clonk in the mechanism. Yet the door didn't budge even a centi...

Chapter 9 in The Infernal Machine
It was 7:30 pm. I called up the library to explain myself. The voice of a very out of breath Rosie told me to go home and rest, apparently buying my literally true story of finding a place to stay for the stranger without the slightest suspicion. The walk back was a freezing hel...

Chapter 8 in The Infernal Machine
In the dim orange haze permeating the room, Amina's removal of the hood was more symbolic than much else. That she had short straight hair cut just below her jawline was all the new information her gesture revealed. "I'm Frank," pleased to meet you too... We should probably hurr...

Chapter 8 in The Infernal Machine
Before heading down, a stroke of pure unadulterated genius hit me, in anticipation of potential remarks on my appearance. I unclothed myself down to just a t-shirt and trousers. I needn't have felt the slightest disappointment earlier. Entering the dining room revealed mine to b...

Chapter 16 in The Infernal Machine
"That's why it felt weird when I pushed you, then..." Elka said. "Nice knockers." Charlotte grunted. "Thanks..." With the little hatch above open she gazed at her cell mate. Although tinted purple because of the light her skin had the distinct pallor of native Earth people. Elka...

Chapter 14 in The Infernal Machine
It was her cousin Frank. She knew his likeness instantly in spite of the years; his shock of messy black hair and perpetually disheveled demeanour utterly unchanged. He swayed on his feet, frowning, she knew he must still have those awful screams echoing in his skull. Finally he...

Chapter 13 in The Infernal Machine

"I'm not convinced there's venomous spiders on our world," I said, "Let alone the City." Climbing fully on the chair, I straightened up, raising my weapons of capture. A swift swiping gesture with the vase and the metal spider was trapped. I covered the opening with Gilly's bathr...
