True College Magic Watch Fantasy
by GrosPoulain
Lucas Perry, a 19-year-old average college freshman at American University in Washington, D.C., lives a dull, unmotivated life. He has little interest in his classes, a roommate he actually likes (Jeremy), and a group of fake friends he barely tolerates. One night, while working on an essay, he accidentally discovers a strange black-and-orange digital watch left behind by a mysterious man. The accompanying note claims the watch can stop time. At first skeptical, Lucas quickly learns the claim is true. What begins as cautious experimentation—testing the rules of the power, the limits of interaction with frozen people and objects, the strange passage of subjective time—rapidly evolves into something darker. Freed from consequences, he starts using the watch for petty against those who dismiss or mock him, as well as against others he judges vain, mean, or dumb, invading private lives and increasingly satisfying long-repressed desires with the girls on campus. As Lucas pushes the boundaries of what the watch allows and discovers new powers held by the watch that he didn't know about, his moral restraints erode. The more he uses the power, the harder it becomes to return to ordinary life… and the more tempting it is to stop asking himself whether he still should.
