talk with the fox

"Monster, demon, freak, get out of her, demon child," I could still hear the words from my nightmare. it has been two days since the fight with the samurai, but the memories it brought up still lingered.

shaking my head, I get off the bed and look at matt. "Matt go to bed," I tell him. he moves from the door to the bed and lays down. I then walk up to the wall and set my head against it. "What is wrong with me. I thought I was past this," I said out loud.

"And this is why I don't understand why you want to return to that place," said the fox.

"Shut it," I said in my head.

"Why because the truth hurts," he said. "It has been weeks now. they have most likely already wrote you off as dead. the only ones who miss you are the ones who saw you as a weapon."

"That is not true I'm sure Baa-chan," I started to say.

"Oh, the drunk," he said. "She most likely drank away your memory already. pinky just liked to ride your coat tails. The Hyūga might be the only one who would truly miss you."

"Hinata," I said with a smile. "I hope she is doing okay."

"Back to my original point why do you want to return. thanks to these guys you have a power no one else has. just break free and be free," he said.

"And why do you care," she said.

"Because then when you die, I can finally be free," he said. "Think about it. being free without the village holding you back. without people giving you all those evil stares. you could move to wave there they would treat you with respect. or the crescent moon, spring country, or even the lands of birds. there they would treat you with the respect you deserve,"

"Just shut up," I yelled out loud.

"Fine," he said. with that his voice went silent. allowing me to embrace the silence. of course, it did not help the small voice in the back of my head agreeing with him.
