reconnaissance

Lydecker didn't like this one bit, but he had little choice. The orders had come down and Max was the only capable agent in the area. Lydecker shook his head in frustration and entered the room where Max was waiting.

The driver had dropped her off at a Military outpost near the Canadian border. They would use it as the launching point for her next mission. They had given her time to shower and change. The expensive dress she once wore replaced with standard green camouflage fatigues.

Max's body went tense, almost on instinct she quickly stood and saluted Lydecker.

"At ease solder,"

At his command Max's body relaxed slightly. Her eyes following the small folder he threw down on the table in front of her.

Lydecker sighed. "You and I both know that redeploying an agent so soon after a mission is against standard procedure. But a situation has arose that we simply can't ignore. We received Intel that a local terrorist cell, that goes by the name S1W, has taken up occupancy in a near by abandoned warehouse"

Max opened the manila folder. It was filled with maps, pictures, police records.

"This is strictly a reconnaissance mission. You are not to be seen or heard. You will be dropped off twenty miles north of the warehouse, from there you will proceed to the target location and begin surveillance. Rendezvous point is here, at Nineteen hundred hours. "Lydecker said, pointing at wooded area on one of the maps that sat on the table. "Understood?"

"Yes, Sir," Max quickly replied.

Max watched as the forest canopy whizzed by below her feet. The helicopter she was in hugging the terrain as it swiftly made it's way towards her drop of point. The copter slowed, one of the men opening the sliding door on its side.

"See you again in Eighteen hours solder!" one of the men yelled, trying to be heard over the loud roar of the helicopters blades.

Max gave the solder a curt nod and leaped out of the door. She fell twenty feet before landing gracefully on the soft forest floor. Her head craned up to watch as the copter flew away, disappearing behind a wall of trees.

Max checked her watch and then sprinted off into the forest. She had barely broken a sweat by the time she reached the warehouse. Slowing she crouched down, making her body smaller as she approached the forest edge that bordered the warehouse.

She took a moment to check her surroundings before hunkering down. With a clear view of the warehouse she prepared herself for the long night and day ahead of her.
