Becky was fuming. As she was getting her stuff from her locker, Taylor Upshaw and her boyfriend Hunter Bettes had happened by. Even though Becky had never said or done anything against them, Taylor just had to run her snobby, spoiled rich girl mouth.

"Nice make up, Becky. I didn't know Sharpie made make up. Next time try putting on your make up with the lights on!"

"Totally pathetic!" said Hunter. The two walked off laughing.

On her way home, Becky noticed a bright silver package in the bushes in front of the mobile home she and her mom shared. She picked it up. It was a long, thin box wrapped in silver wrapping paper. There was nothing written or printed on it. She looked around and then unwrapped it. It was a box and inside was what looked to be a blue universal remote. She looked for a manufacturer, but there was none.

She let herself in her mobile home. Her mom was working a double shift as a nurses assistant and would not be home until midnight.

Becky slung her bag on the couch and flopped down. She pointed the remote at the TV.
