he got away

I stayed hidden till the sound of fighting finally died down. i had even killed two of the men who ran into the tent looking to grab the girls before leaving. once i stopped getting memories from my clones and the camp went quiet, I made one more clone and had it leave the tent.

after a few minutes the clone popped itself letting me know it is all clear. with a smile on my face i step out of the tent and look around. most of the camp was on fire and there were bodies of bandits everywhere. "I look at one of the clones and said, "report."

"We got most of the camp boss," said the clone. "Towards the end a few decided to cut their losses and run."

"Tell me we got the head bastard," I said with a growl.

"Sorry boss he got away," said the clone. "We did get his second in command and most of those we recognized from last time.

"Dammit," I yell at the top of my lungs. "Did any of the clones see where he fled to?"

"We think he went south," said another clone. none of us went after him because his summons makes him and annoying trap maker.

I closed my eyes to try and calm down. A part of me wanted to chase that man down and kill him. Unfortunately, my clone was right the man's summons made it to easy for him to set up a trap and capture him again. I look south still wondering if I should risk it.
