favor for a favor

Tegan Nox sat in a cell with her head bowed.

she had been there for hours and she wasn't sure what would happen to her.

was she going to prison?

Tegan wasn't sure how she would get out of this.

I was so stupid. I shouldn't have jumped in like that but I couldn't let Toni get hurt.

she looked up as an officer opened the cell.

"Newell? your free to go."

Tegan stood.

"I am?" she asked as she stepped out of the cell.

"your bail's been paid." as they rounded the corner she saw a couple of familiar faces.

Becky and Kaylee hugged her warmly.

"oh you guys! thank you!" Tegan said smiling as she hugged Kaylee tightly.

"ye dinna think we'd let ye stay here?" Kaylee said as she released her.

Becky hugged her next.

"ya oughta know better, Tegan. an' while I can't say I have any love for Toni storm even she didn't deserve that.

it was good of ye ta try an help her anyway. but I thought ya went home?"

"well.." Tegan hesitated.

"I WAS going to; then I spent some time with Dakota and she ....CONVINCED me to stay."

Kaylee smiled. "I'll bet there WAS some 'CONVINCIN' goin' on."

Tegan blushed and smiled.

then Tegan explained what went down with Sarah.

Kaylee touched Tegan's shoulder.

"I'm sorry lass. I really am." Kaylee said gently.

Tegan wiped her eye.

"thanks. it still hurts but...it's great I have friends like you and Dakota and Becky.

I never meant to cause any trouble. I saw no one was going to help Toni until Dakota came down."

"ya don't need ta apologize." Becky told her.

"an' I'm gonna make sure Sonya reinstates ya."

"oh Becky you don't have to. I should go back home."

"no I insist." Becky pressed

"you DESERVE ta work here and we miss you."

Tegan smiled.

"thanks Becky."

the following week on smack down.

"Becky you are giving me CONSTANT headaches."

Sonya said as she tapped her pencil on the table.

"look Sonya we NEED Tegan!"

"Becky! the average fan doesn't know who Tegan Nox even is! and I doubt they CARE.

sure she won the mae young classic, or would have if her knee hadn't blown out.

then after a YEAR of surgeries and rehab, Dakota kai reinjured her at war games and put her back on the shelf.

"except fer that insane cage match I just had with her a few months back."

Becky countered.

"which she LOST and I subsequently banned her for." Sonya snapped.

"she was part of my faction. she and Kaylee won the tag titles! she was smack down champ!" Becky pointed out.

Sonya sighed hard.

"I'll tell you what: I'll re-sign her. if, IF you agree that you will grant me a favor later."

Becky's eyes narrowed.

"what favor?"

Sonya leaned back and laced her fingers together.

she smiled.

"nothing specific right now. I just like having you owe me Becky. you're a talented woman."

Becky was silent.

"well, time's wasting sweetie." Sonya pressed.

"alright." Becky aid quietly.

Sonya rose and walked around the desk.

she smiled and lightly brushed the tip of Becky's nose with her finger.

"good girl."
