Beware Spiders bearing gifts (Yuri POV)

Yuriko "Yuri" Watanabe put the latest piece of thief paraphernalia dropped in by Spider-Man before heading to her office. According to him the large toy cats were something the Black Cat used, suggesting she might be back. Yuri checked again, and the woman's hear was still in their evidence locker.

Closing the door, she let out a sigh of relief that she had such a quiet, isolated office. Her legendary temper earned her a few bonuses, the NYC Police Captain mused.

Sitting at her desk, she opened the box she'd been given by Spider-Man. Inside was a gadget he'd built for her. Holding up the large pair of sunglasses, she noticed the lenses were covered by a black plastic similar to some zooms on older cameras she remembered seeing.

He said they were based on his own lenses. A computer she could wear. They had earbuds that protected her ears but didn't hinder hearing. Putting them on, she was able to scroll through a number of files on most of the criminals Spider-Man had faced. Edited, she could tell. The real appeal though, was the hacking feature.

With these on, Yuri could link to CCTV, Radio broadcasts, portable computers, phones, virtually anything. Peter even suggested she could make all traffic lights turn green for her. He did ask that she not wear them constantly, as he wasn't sure what... what "terminally online glasses" would do.

She was able to see clearly with them on, the features minimising with an eye movement or voice command. She could turn on notifications, and get a text crawl running at the bottom of her vision.

They were something, felt like seeing the world like a videogame.

These would be useful. Despite the initial size, once they were on, they folded and adjusted to fit, looking like fancy, and a little cyberpunk, sunglasses. She wouldn't have to discreetly reach for a camera or her phone while observing people. Very useful for her plans to take down the Maggia.

And perhaps it would have. But when she got home, Yuri did something very stupid. A couple of things. She used her new gadget for something personal, disabling some security features on the things, and then left it on auto-update.

So as she slept, her new gadget took her searches on the Maggia, and her searches on WMAF and MaleDom/FemSub Porn, and began tailoring her Folders for that.
