Chapter 7 by lightsout
Will the Superclone use the Orginal's name?
Yeah no
Her words hang in the air, soft and expectant, her breath warm against your skin. "Andy," she says again, her voice a melodic hum that vibrates through her chest into yours, "should we use my donor's name, or would you make me an original name for myself?"
You blink, trying to focus, but it's damn near impossible. She's still holding you close—too close—her naked body pressed against you like a living statue of heated marble. Tall, towering over you by at least a head, with curves that could redefine gravity and muscles that ripple with every subtle shift. The green-tinged fluid from the pod clings to her skin in glistening trails, tracing paths over full breasts, down the etched lines of her abs, and along thighs that look like they could crush steel or wrap around you with equal ease.
Blood rushes south, hot and insistent, turning your thoughts into a foggy haze. Your pants feel uncomfortably tight, and you shift awkwardly in her embrace, hoping she doesn't notice. But those piercing blue eyes are locked on yours, filled with that programmed devotion, and a part of you wonders if she already knows—if the imprint makes her attuned to every flush, every quickened pulse.
"Uh... yeah," you manage, voice cracking like a teenager's. "Original. Definitely original. The donor—Aresia—she was... not someone we want to echo. Genocidal maniac doesn't exactly scream 'fresh start.' We need something inspiring, something that fits your birth. Your new beginning."
She tilts her head, blonde strands cascading wetly over one shoulder, her smile deepening with curiosity and affection. She loosens her hold just enough to let your feet touch the floor fully, but her hands linger on your arms, thumbs tracing gentle circles that send sparks racing up your spine. "Tell me your thoughts, my love. I want a name that honours what you've made me."
You nod, swallowing hard, forcing your mind to the list of ideas swirling in your head—drawn from ancient Greek roots, tying back to her Amazonian heritage, the Genesis Engine's tech, and that war-god echo without chaining her to the hate. But thinking straight is a battle when she's standing there, bare and breathtaking, her presence a magnetic pull that's equal parts heroic aura and raw sensuality.
First up: Genara. From genos—Greek for birth or origin, nodding to the Engine—and Ara, a homage to Ares and Aresia, evoking altars or prayers. Inspired by nymphs or goddesses of creation. It pays respect to her cloning as a new birth, with that strong, mythical Amazonian vibe, like a reborn warrior turned heroic. But... it hits your ear wrong. Too close to generic. She deserves better than something that sounds off-the-shelf.
Next: Klonara. Pulling from klon, the ancient Greek for twig or shoot—the root of clone—blended with Ara. Draws from myths like Daphne transforming into a tree, symbolizing change. It's a direct tip to her as a branch from Aresia, reformed into harmony, with that warrior strength intact. Amazonian through and through. But damn, it's too on the nose. Naming a superclone something that screams clone? Might as well tattoo Lab Experiment on her forehead.
Same problem with Aresklone—a mash of Ares and klone, inspired by Greek compound myths like the Chimera. Epic, hybrid feel, preserving her warrior essence but softened. Cloning tech front and centre as an offshoot. But again, way too literal. Aresia clone? No subtlety there.
Protara: Proto for first or prototype, evoking the Engine's process, plus Ara. Inspired by Protogeneia, meaning first-born. Highlights her as a primordial protector, heroic and reformed. Ancient Greek roots give it power. Nice, but it nags at you—sounds too easily twisted into potara, and it's blatantly prototype. On the nose again, like labelling her a beta test.
Eugenia: From eu—good or well—and genos, linking to Genesis. Mythically tied to noble birth or creation, with a sci-fi eugenics twist for her enhanced genetics. Subtle nod to Aresia's refined nobility, like a well-born Amazon queen. It sounds almost normal, like Eugene but feminine. Could work—grounded, inspiring without the baggage.
Theagenia: Thea for goddess, tying to Amazonian divinity, plus genia from genos. Feminized from Theagenes, a Greek hero. Emphasizes her as goddess-born via the Engine, with divine war heritage implied. Perfect for a devoted, super-powered partner. It's got a nice ring—majestic, heroic.
Echoara: Echo the nymph who repeats, symbolizing duplication and cloning, plus Ara. Ties into Thought Bleeding from the Engine's quirks. Clever echo of Aresia's war side, but reformed into harmony. Ancient myth adds depth. Intriguing, but maybe too tied to repetition, like she's just a copy.
Neogenia: Neo for new, genia for birth. Inspired by new creations in Greek lore. Represents her as a fresh start, homage to the tech and her shift from hate to love. Warrior rebirth theme fits Amazons. Clean, optimistic.
Aetheria: Aether, the primordial god of upper air and light for pure creation, with ia echoing Aresia. Ties to ethereal genesis. Amazonian divine roots, reformed into an enlightened heroine. Airy, inspiring—like she's born from the heavens, not a lab.
So many choices, you are spoiled for it, but you will need to make a choice.
So, which name will Andy pick?
