Wandering into the wrong place

The sound of foot steps crunching against dead leaves filled the air as two girls in traditional Chinese attire trekked through the forest. One in yellow with brown hair, the other in a pink outfit, her hair purple and blue skin. These two were Mei-Ling and Hsien-Ko, two sisters that make up a B+ Class Darkstalker. The siblings traveled through an isolated forest in Japan, the path they walked on looking like it had rarely been touched. "Um, Sis?" Hsien-Ko spoke up after a long period of silence. Mei-Ling merely hummed as a reply. "I thought you said this was the right way to go?" the Jiangshi questioned.

"I said this was a shortcut!" Mei-Ling announced, her sister giving her an annoyed look,"...to our destination! We just cut through this forest and we'll be there in no time! " The girl in yellow corrected herself, a hint of pride in her voice as she placed both fists against her hips. "No need to doubt your older sister." Mei-Ling teased.

"Barely older than me" Hsien-Ko huffed, "And should you really be so confident about this "shortcut"? We've been walking for hours now and we've nothing but- a village." The younger twin's complaint was cut off by the forest's path ending at a small village, surrounded by an eerie mist.

"Huh, I don't remember seeing this on the map..." Mei-Ling shyly muttered to herself.

Hsien-Ko let out a sigh, "Great, we are lost. I'll just go ask someone for directions so we can get a move on. " And with that, Hsien-Ko entered the village, Mei-Ling following her lead.

Upon entering the village, the two sisters noticed that the place was in disrepair. Buildings were in ruin, cracks in the ground were filled with puddles, and a plethora of gravestones were scattered about. Hsien-Ko's face contorted into a greater amount of annoyance, "Well there goes my idea."

"Yeah," Mei-Ling added, "I doubt we'll find anyone living here-oh! Never mind! " The older twin's sentence was cut off by her own discovery. To the right of her was a shrine, just about twelve meters away from where they currently stood. In front of the shrine was a woman with long black hair in a rose pink kimono. The woman was kneeling down in front of the shrine, a broken naginata laying beside her. Mei-Ling began to walk forward, but upon getting closer, noticed the skin of the woman was deathly pale and her kimono was tattered. "Hey, sis. You think she's a bit odd? " Mei-Ling whispered.

Not like we're ones to talk." Hsien-Ko answered back. Clearing her throat, the jiangshi called out, "Hey, my sister and I are a bit lost. Could you-"

""あなたはここに歓迎されていません、出て行ってください" The woman interrupted, not bothering to look back at the two nor getting up from her position.

"Rude." Hsien-Ko huffed. "Listen, we won't be here long, so, if you could-" Once more, Hsien-Ko was interrupted, this time by the woman suddenly standing up. Her movements were fast and abrupt, a green aura forming around her body. In the process of standing up, she had picked up her naginata.

The woman turned around to face the twins, and upon doing so, it became apparent that the woman standing in front of them was a spirit. Said spirit was Hisako, an onryō who had lived in this village until her ****, when she fought off an army that had been invading the village where she had grown up. "聞こえないの?" Hisako questioned, though, by her tone, it was more of a warning than anything else.

Hsien-Ko narrowed her eyes, but before she could say or do anything else, Mei-Ling began to tug on the back of her top in an attempt to drag her sister away from the onryō. Not wanting a conflict, Hsien-Ko allowed herself to be dragged off by her sister. "Geez, what a jerk. Oh well, I'm sure we can find our way without any help." said Mei-Ling with self-assurance.

The sour look that was on Hsien-Ko's face began to fad away, a smile replacing it. "Right, when we're together, nothing can stop us." Hsien-Ko proudly announced. The two sisters giggled to themselves as they ventured forth... Or at least they were going to venture forth, until Hsien-Ko's shoulder accidently bumped into a vase that rested upon a wall.

Both girls watched in horror as the vase crashed into the ground. The sound of it shattering echoed through the Village of Whispers. ".......You think she'll notice?" Mei-Ling sheepishly asked her sister.

"Um, well-" Hsien-Ko tried to find a response, but before she could.

" 死にたい!?" a voice raged on from behind them. Turning to face it, Hsien-Ko literally came face-to-face with the vengeful spirit, the hopping vampire, taking a step back to put some distance between one another.

"Yeah, she did!" Hsien-Ko shouted. Quickly taking note of the rage within Hisako's eyes, Hsien-Ko looked over to her sister, "Mei-Ling!" Hsien-Ko called as she put her left arm into the sleeve of her outfit.

"Right!" Mei-Ling answered with a nod as a bright light encompassed her body, transforming into a talisman that floated toward the younger twin. Hsien-Ko caught Mei-Ling between the thumb and index finger of her right hand and placed her on the front of her hat. With that out of the way, Hsien-Ko put her right arm into her sleeve and then stiffened her arms forward. She pressed her legs together, bending them slightly. Hsien-Ko was ready to fight, and so was her opponent, who slammed the broken end of her naginata against the ground, holding the blade in the air as she peered behind the polearm.
