Unaware

"You think Giles is going to be okay?" Buffy asked as she picked up the older man.

"Suuurrree." Xander drawled. "He was only in the middle of a magical explosion." Then Xander suddenly hypothesized, "Wait a sec.... Reality altering magical ressurection... uh, ritual stuff, exploded all over him. I'm sure he's fine. Better than ever even."

"Ha... ha... ha." Buffy snarked.

"Hold up, hear me out." Xander waved for silence. "Look, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm right. But if tomorrow Giles gets up and he's,uhm, rejuvenated-if that's the word I want- I wouldnt be surprised."

"Rejuvenated, huh?"

Xander shrugged, "Ten years younger looking. Back in his prime." Xander stopped and considered, "Actually how old is Giles? Is ten years younger his prime? Fifteen?"

Buffy stopped walking and set the **** Giles down on the ground, leaning his upper body and head against her legs. She took a second to let her muscles rest and considered Xander's question. "Y'know, I don't know. I don't know how old Giles is. I just guessed 40 something because of how he looks."

"He does look very 40 something." Xander agreed. "But tomorrow he might not be."

"Sure thing, Xand." Buffy bent down and using her superstrength picked Giles up.

"I'm telling you tomorrow morning Giles is going to wake up and thanks to tonights magical shenanigans, he'll look like he's in his 20s."

When he caught Buffy's disbelieving look Xander huffed, "I'm right about this Buff. I got a good feeling. You wanna bet I'm wrong?"

Buffy rolled her eyes, "If Giles wakes up tomorrow and he's 20 again, I'll owe you a coke."

"Wow, really living dangerously there, Buffy. A coke. C'Mon, live a little, bet big." Xander teased.

Buffy relented, if only to shut Xander up, "Ok. Okay. How about..."
