What Should Akira Do?

Try To Think Of Another Phrase

Not wanting to take advantage of a seemingly innocent maid or threaten her, Akira stood for a moment, thinking of all the different possible words he could use to make the maid forget, or at the very least, not report that there was a pixie in town. That's when an idea came to Akira.

"Feya, how long do the command's last for?" he asked.

"It depends on the command I guess"

"What if I commanded her to like the fey, do you think that might work?"

Feya said nothing, a look of deep thought on her face. It took her a minute before saying anything.

"I'm not sure if it would work and you only get one shot at this but, telling her to like the fey doesn't breach the "rules" of the ability"

Akira stepped towards the maid and looked at her. He thought for a second on how to phrase what he wanted to say before uttering the words.

"You will always think that fey are your friends"

The moment the last word came from Akira's mouth, the blue light faded from the maid's eyes. She blinked a few times before looking straight at Feya.

"Forgive me miss" the maid said. "I was just startled by you for a moment but I mean you no ill intent"

Feya looked stunned. The phrase actually worked. Even though the maid still remembered hating the fey, Akira had somehow implanted an entirely new trait to her personality. Akira was also a little shocked. He couldn't believe how powerful this ability actually was.

"I'll be leaving now, let me know if you require anything" the maid said before leaving the room.

"Holy crap" Akira exclaimed.

Feya suddenly dove at Akira, attempting to hug him but her arms were so tiny that she just pressed herself flat against his chest. Akira carefully placed his hand over Feya to which she let out a strange moan before moving back and blushing.

"I'm sorry" Akira started. I didn't hurt you did I?"

"No...no, its just... my wings are kind of...sensitive" Feya said, struggling to look at Akira.

Akira knew almost immediately what she was getting at and in turn, also blushed and looked away, apologising again.

For the next ten minutes or so, Akira and Feya both discussed what to do next. Their grand adventure had practically, only just started, but both of them had no idea what they should do next.

"Oh, wait" Feya said, quickly jumping up from the bed. "Ginny"

"What about her?" Akira asked.

"She said she was leaving today, maybe before we start anything, we should try and meet her at the gate, you know, say goodbye".

"We?"

"Well...I know I know I wasn't really apart of everything you guys did but...well I think it would be nice is all".

Akira did kind of agree. Ginny was the only other person he actually knew in this world. It would be nice to see her off, especially since she was going to be heading into danger soon. Both Akira and Feya agreed on heading to the main gate and to try and catch Ginny before she left.

The two made their way out of the inn. Feya now safely stashed away in Akira's backpack, along with some of the food they had bought. Akira had actually forgotten how large the town was and it took them around twenty minutes before they actually made it to the main gate where they entered the day before. It seemed as though Akira wasn't the only person wanting to wish good luck to somebody. It looked like a few hundred people had turned up. Most of them were cheering and waving, others were crying and hugging loved ones. Akira very quickly managed to spot Ginny with her gleaming blonde hair and shiny armour. He quickly made his way over to her.

"Akira? What are you doing here?" Ginny asked as Akira approached her.

"I...uhmm...I just wanted to come and see you before you left. I wasn't sure if we would meet again and just wanted to come and wish you luck".

"That's very sweet Akira, I appreciate it" Ginny said with a genuine smile. "I wish I could stick around to appreciate it some more but we were just about ready to open the gates".

Akira hung his head a little but quickly brought it back up as a familiar voice spoke to him.

"Ah Akira, good to see you again"

It was Heath, the king's son. He was atop an extremely large horse which was clad in just as extravagant armour as the rider himself.

"Oh, I didn't know you were riding out with the party" Akira said, thinking it was a little dangerous for the prince himself to go on a raiding party.

"Of course, not to boast about myself too much but the leader of a war party should be renowned in battle and leadership. The soldiers here today look up to me and I in turn keep them spirits high". The entire time Heath was talking he was puffing his chest out to make it look even larger than it already was.

"Well, I wish you all luck on your quest" Akira said, now looking back at Ginny.

"Why don't you join us?" Heath asked. "I see you have a blade, do you know how to use it?"

"Uhh..." Akira wasn't sure how to respond.

"He only recently acquired that blade as a reward for helping me" Ginny butted in. "He is yet to be trained in swordplay"

"Well, let me make you an offer Akira" Heath said as he climbed down from his horse. "Come with us, aid us in anyway you can and in your free time, I myself will train you to use your blade. I guess you would become my squire of sorts"

Akira was slightly taken aback. As nice as Heath seemed, according to Ginny he very rarely stayed that way to most people. But for some reason, he had been nothing but nice to Akira.

"I'm not sure, I would probably end up being a burden" Akira responded.

"Nonsense" Heath boomed. "If you come with us you will be in mine and Ginny's care and we will train you as best we can. We will not throw you into battle if we don't think you're ready and there are other ways to be useful rather than fighting"

Akira really wished he could consult Feya on this, since it was also her life that could be at risk. Although, as Akira looked around at the army in front of him, there were at least a couple hundred fighters here. He would probably feel safer with them, even knowing they were going into battle. Akira had a big decision to make. Should he go with Heath and Ginny? Or should he stay in town and find a quest of his own?

!WARNING!

This next choice will split the story in two. Each path will lead to entirely different stories, each with it's own characters, events and choices.
