To new lands

I spent a good deal of time as Dehya, with Kaveha as my...would I call it friend. I wasn't to sure. Maybe he was an accomplice...I wouldn't say I considered him a friend, more like someone I could use to indulge myself when need be...a tool...or perhaps a pawn. Either way for the most part life had been well easy. Dehya's body had served me well, her memories, her strength, her skill. They were all mine to command and with some extra intelligence here and there from my own mind, I had made her more formidable. I was able to remain and live as her without anyone else being aware. Only Kaveha knew of my existence and my other activities...and even then he only knew what I wanted him to see.

Initially I had been reckless. I was new to this body and I had let my guard...let Dehya's guard be lowered and he spotted me. Never again, with Dehya's trained senses at my command I was always aware of my surroundings now, always in control of what Kaveha could and should see. Speaking of which...it was time for another private session of mine.

I had been feeling it recently. The growth in my abdomen...I dare say I had made an offspring...thought it wasn't a human one like some might expect. Though it was Dehya and Kaveha who had mated, I was still present and my slug form inside had absorbed the semen from Kaveha. From it my slug form had procreated and made a few...new slugs of its own. Slugs that had been developing and waiting in Dehya's body.

It was an interesting development. Not one I had anticipated, since I had only ever focused on immortality but welcomed none the less. These slugs...these children of mine were something else. I could feel them wanting control of Dehya just as I had, but my will and my desire were stronger. Or perhaps it was just maturity. Either way...they wanted there own bodies and I was not willing to share.

So I decided I'd do the next best thing. I'd send them off.

It was a simple idea really. Using Dehya's body, I hunted quite a few birds. The big strong kind, the falcons and such. Birds who were strong and could travel far. They were admittedly my second choice. I had initially wanted to go after some humans but it seemed more trouble than it was worth. Humans were difficult. The process of possession would take longer with humans, they would fight back more often and they needed to be isolated. All were risky as it could lead to compromising my position and damaging my exquisite body. Birds on the other hand...could be hunted far easier. So I did.

Now looking at my captured birds, I smiled as I walked up to them. My children had already gotten the idea and had started to slither up the inside of my body going from the abdomen to my mouth. While it did so I grabbed one of the birds. The creature thrashed around in its binds but it was useless against Dehya's muscles. I pried open its beak and opened my own mouth, letting one of my child slither out on my tongue and then diving straight out into the bird's mouth. Once it was safely inside I closed the beak shut and let my child do its work.

The creature started thrashing even more as control was ripped from it but eventually it settled down. I undid the bindings and the bird merely stood up and looked at itself before looking at me. I flashed it a smile before offering on arm, the bird flying and landing atop it. "Good good...now I trust you know where you need to go." I told it. The bird nodded and I lifted up my arm and it flied off. My offspring had taken full control of it and was now heading to new lands to possess new individuals.

I felt...happy and sad to see them go. Dehya's eyes begun to water as I wiped them. My babies...they were already out possessing creatures, going to find there own hosts in the world...I never felt so proud before.

But I quickly dried those tears...I still had to prep the others.
