The darkness held no mysteries for the vampire Lois Lane. As the elevator door opened, she seemed to drift down the corridor in bare feet that barely touched the ground. The shadows were like shades of darkened glass, and Lois could see the colors of black inside them. Taste the scent of old blood and delayed putrescence in the air.

The smell of vampires. It made her mouth water.

Tonya Wong's memories guided her, down the basement corridors. Through a break in the wall, where hard concrete gave way to crumbling red brick. Toward a cemetery, long surrounded by buildings, cut off and forgotten. Where there was a crypt. Where a marble bed waited for her...and where Tonya's three sisters would return, after they had secured their prey.

Three sisters...and their master. The one who had turned them. Made them his brides.
