The Twin Panthers of Wakanda

The ritual combat was over. A badly wounded T’challa concedes the throne.

The challenger, a middle-aged Wakandan man, raised his fist in victory. His name was Omari of the Mining Tribe.

“By the gods, I did it,” Omari said to his twin sons, Jakari and Zakari, upon stepping off the ceremonial dueling grounds, “I cannot believe it. What is this power have you granted me?”

The youths, Jakari and Zakari, exchanged glances and shared smiles.

“It is the power of the Black New World Order, father,” Jakari said.

“But what is that?” Omari asked, looking perplexed.

Zakari chuckled. “Do not worry about it, father. You only have to fulfill the rest of what we agreed upon, and you may spend the rest of your life in the lavish lap of luxury, as King!”

Omari laughed. “I knew you two would bring good fortune to the family from the first day I laid eyes upon you. But never could I imagine you would make me king of Wakanda!”

And so, Omari ascended the throne of Wakanda and made his sons, Zakari and Jakari, the crown princes of Wakanda. He also bestowed the title of ‘Black Panther’ on the both of them.

After going through the rituals, Zakari and Jakari both gained the powers of Black Panther. However, for the creation of their panther suits, Zakari and Jakari insisted they provide their own vibranium.

The twin brothers belong to the Mining Tribe, who were the people of Wakanda responsible for mining vibranium and other minerals. Therefore it was not unusual that they were able to obtain the rare metal.

However, the vibranium ore that the twin princes presented were noticeably different. It was a much darker metal than the usual raw vibranium. It was very black. So black it almost looked like a hole or fracture in space from every angle.

Closer inspection by Wakandan scientists showed that the black vibranium was just regular vibranium tainted by some inexplicable phenomena. The twin princes called the tainted metal: BNWOnium.

Under royal decree, the best minds of Wakanda got to work building new Panther Suits for the twin princes with the BNWOnium.

The custom suits were completed within several months, equipped with cutting edge Wakandan technology. In order to differentiate themselves, the brothers opted for different colors for their respective suits.

Zakari maintained the classic black look and the name of ‘Black Panther.’

Meanwhile, Jakari opted for a red suit and dubbed himself the ‘Blood Panther.’
