What's next?
The Princess is in another tower...
You move towards the ancient tower slowly and quietly. Climbing over another hill, you're able to look below to see an entire horde of skeletal soldiers, wandering aimlessly.
"This place is crawling with those things" James says first "I don't know how we're going to bring all of them down."
Bruce nodded "It'll be a struggle to be sure, but even a small matter to help tip the scales can be a big help."
"I have an idea" You say, patting the shoulder of James "Watch my back" You reach into your pack and pull out the "hurdy gurdy" the gift from your Elven King. You sit at the edge of the hill cross-legged, and begin to play a strange, ethereal set of notes. By most ears, it wouldn't sound as music, but it isn't meant for most ears. As you play, two of the skeletal soldiers march towards you, rusted swords in hand.
"Let them come" You tell your friends "The song is a spell. I have them under my control." Outside your view, the Dowton's and Bruce shrug as they look at each other, surprised as the actions they saw. Close enough to touch, they stop and stand still, as close as possible to being at military attention. You look at the soldiers and see painted insignias of Vilory, just as the cloth one Bruce found on another soldier, and are inspired.
"Soldiers, your country needs you." You speak loudly and with purpose "You have served a noble cause all your lives, and continue to serve into ****. Serve and fight once more, so that your countryman may be saved from greater loss." The soldiers about face, banging their swords against the battered shields, to gain the attention of the other skeletons. You stand up, and play a different song. You heard it gently through the capital city of Vilory already, as the sun rose and as the sun set, and though you're not certain, you'd be willing to bet that it's the anthem of the country. You hope that whatever the song is, that the souls left in these bodies are able to recognize the song, and be inspired to fight to their last, as they once were in life. As the song carries louder, filling the valley, the skeletal soldiers march turns into a full charge. They attack the other soldiers, causing a circle of **** around them. The music seems to have done the trick, as the two bring down enemies.
"Okay, now!" You call as you make a run for it, followed by your human companions.
"Are we going to help them?" James asked
"No, they're serving as a distraction, we need to get inside." The four of you rush past, having evaded notice of the mindless undead. The open, destroyed tower as dark and seemingly vacant, with no sense of anyone residing here.
"Are we sure we're in the right place?" James asked
"Vyrmar was using magic to prevent this place from being scryed by magic, he may be using more spells to obscure us even more." You suggest.
"Magic or not, the only way we can find out is to keep going." Bruce said "Come on, up the stairs. Be on your guard." The stairs are thankfully free of monsters, but missing steps with gaping holes in the exterior walls, creates its own perils. Being a young and noble elf, you're able to handle the acrobatics of the challenges with ease. Bruce Clifton, the eldest of the humans, struggles with it, further encumbered by his scale armor. The Dowton brothers, while not having elven grace, were likewise able to get across the chasms with little concern. Rising to the top of the tower, you find a grizzly, awful sight. Another animated corpse, eternally rotting meat and flesh still on its bones. Behind the rotten skin of the face, glowing eyes glared maliciously. It's hands had turned into sharp daggers, ready to cut and carve and bring new subjects into its undead ****.

"Gods!" you let out in disgust "A Morgh, I hoped I'd never see one"
"Whoever it was in life, must have been a real monster to turn into such a thing" Bruce said before turning to the Dowtons "Spend too much time in war, you get too comfortable with the killing and the slaughter, and this can happen to you"
"Noted" Kraig said with wide eyes "Where's Vyrmar, and the General's daughter?"
"I think we've been tricked" You reply "But we should still deal with this threat while we can."
The monstrous horror of the Morgh barreled towards you and your allies with unparalleled desire and hatred. Kraig, unflinching, drew an arrow from his bow and fired quickly as you and James ducked out of the way. Bruce, protected in his armor, charged forward and slammed against the enemy, pushing him back before trying to cut with his sword. James sulked around to try and surprise him from behind. Delving deeper into your knowledge of occult magic, you were able to make James completely invisible. Bruce sparrred with the gruesome foe, turning about in the room. This allowed Kraig to fire at the Morgh clearly and safely. James sprang into attack, the spell breaking as his short sword slicing against the enemies spine above the hips. The series of rapid attacks from the humans brought the Morgh down, and even though Bruce was inflicted a few scraping wounds of his own from the sharp claw like hands of his enemy, was standing strong over the enemy.
"Well, what now?" James asked, looking around the others for answers.
"Well, coming here wasn't our idea, so Vyrmar not being here isn't our fault." Kraig replied.
"I'm sure that'll be a big help when we explain to the general why we don't have his daughter."
"We'll burn that bridge when we get to it James. Take solace in this at least..." As he walks towards a windowlike opening, pointing to the ground below "with the Morgh dead, the undead below will finally rest as well..." True to his word, the undead army was a loose pile of bone and armor scattered in the ground.
"That's a win at least" James agreed with a nod. As the two of them are looking over that, you look in the room overall. You spot a curiously intact cabinet in the far end. Remembering the mimic in Vyrmar's room, you move slowly and nervously to investigate. With trepidation, you withdraw a scroll from it. It's tightly held, and kept bound with a Vilorian seal.
"Guys..." you call out "I think I have an answer."
"What is it?"
"I don't know" as you hold up the scroll "But I'm sure it isn't good news..."
