The Modme Massacre

You follow Drek's presence to his family's palace. Closing into the landing pad, a strong darkness suffocates all three of you. You sense nothing, but pain, ****, and suffering around the palace. You hail the palace's security personnel but nobody answers you, so you land without announcing yourselves. HK stays back at the ship to secure it while you, Ranvi, and Anakin investigate. Upon entering the palace, you find a handful of the servants slain all across the main hall. Ranvi leaves you and Anakin behind and runs towards the upper levels, where she senses one more presence beside Drek's.

Ranvi (to herself in shock): Oh no, no no no...! This couldn't be him...! I must find him before...!

Lana (running after her but Anakin doesn't): Ranvi! Wait...! Anakin, what's wrong? Are you alright?

He is petrified as flashbacks of his past resurface by the sight. When he was younger, he had made a similar massacre among the Tuskens, who **** and killed his mother. That was the last time he witnessed such pain and suffering, worse, he wasn't just witnessing it, but felt it first hand.

Anakin (returning after you asked him again): Y-yes, sorry, I was just... Stunned, by the sight... Sorry, let's go after her!

As you rush across the corridors, you find nobody alive, servants, security forces, and family members, all massacred in cold blood and left behind where they had been killed. Drek's dark presence is pulling Ranvi through the palace like a planet sized magnet. She's speeding towards his suite fearing the worst. And the worst she'll find...

Ranvi (as she barges into the suite): Drek! Dre...?!

She is horrified by the sight. Drek is standing in front of her, with his back towards the door she came through, his lightsaber ignited and his mother being recently stabbed to ****. She arrived too late to save her. In disbelief, she tries once again to call out to him, but she's just realizing what truly has happened here.

Ranvi (afraid): Drek...?

Drek (as Ragnos): Finally you arrive. You are late, I was hoping you would see my work while it was in progress, not just the finishing touch.

Ranvi (furiously): What have you done to him and his family, you monster?!

Drek: Oh, me? Nothing really, it was all the doing of Drek. While imprisoned in his body, limited by his mind's resistance, I came to the conclusion, that I had to break his spirit before I could gain full control over him. And what better way to break somebody, than massacring their loved ones? Childhood friends, cousins, aunts, all dead by his hands! The best part is, that they all believed Drek had turned on them and had no idea! He was trying to resist the whole time of course, but the greater his torment become, the weaker his will grew.

Ranvi: You...! You...!

Drek: Do not flatter me by saying anything girl. I was saving the most empowering pieces for last. When I got to his mother, the **** of the woman with whom they had loved each other unconditionally since his birth, had proven to be more heartbreaking for him than I was hoping for. She was the only one who had seen through me though, realizing her child was not the one pulling the strings. But it mattered little, when I murdered every single soul in the palace, ensuring that Drek was watching it all, I cornered the woman in here, tortured her a little before gutting her with my lightsaber. Drek had been crying like a child the whole time, begging me to stop, which only fueled my power!

Ranvi: I'll make you pay for every single person you have killed today, tenfold!

Lana (as you and Anakin arrive): Ranvi, are you...? Drek!

Drek (turning around and pointing his lightsaber at you): Ah, the last pieces of the chessboard are finally at place. You two are the only ones who are needed to totally break his soul and extinguish him from this body! The **** of his love and best friend! Do not expect a quick **** though, I am not done toying with him yet.

Anakin (igniting his lightsaber): So this is the Sith lord I have been hearing about... The **** is strong with him, that's for sure!

Drek: You certainly cannot think you are going to be a match for me. Even as I am now, with only a fraction of my power, I can defeat any Jedi of this age. Before my ****, I had fragmented my power and soul into objects I held dear, with the plan of returning and later combining my pieces into one unstoppable **** once again! Then, I shall rule the galaxy, once more! But until then, I have you to deal with... But please, do resist, I am yet to meet the limitation of this body! The guards of this palace were no match for me.

Ranvi (taking out the holocron): Oh, we will!

Drek: Where did you get that? Is that...?!

Ranvi (activating it): It is!

She activates it and the holocron sends a shining beam at Drek, attempting to siphon Ragnos's spirit and **** energy out of him, but he manages to deflect it to your great astonishment.

Ranvi (looking at the ineffective holocron): But... How...?!

Drek (laughing): Did they not tell you how it works?! To use it on somebody, you need to possess at least a close enough **** energy to take effect! You do not even have near enough to use it on me, foolish Jedi!

Lana (as you put your hand on the holocron): She might not, but together, we will!

Drek (checking his body, whether it's still ineffective): Ha, a feeble attempt from petty children! Now, I shall destroy you all!

Anakin (as he too places his hand on the holocron): How about three petty children, huh?

Drek (as the holocron is now taking effect): A-h, o-h, no, noo, noooo! You cannot stop me!

He sends a wave of **** lightning at you, but Anakin deflects it with his lightsaber in his other hand, absorbing the bolts. Then, as his power dwindles and he is left with ****, he charges at you with his lightsaber, but you and Ranvi **** push him away to keep the distance, as the holocron is still siphoning his energy.

Drek (as he crumbles onto his knees): Noooo! I shall not be denied! I shall return and I will destroy you all for good! Aaaarrrrggh!

The last remnants of his energy is drained from Drek and locked into the holocron. The process sends a wave through the ****, that even the masters on Coruscant can feel. A silence falls into the council chambers, one that only Obi-Wan dares to break.

Obi-Wan (happily during the council meeting): They did it!

Windu (indifferently realizing he might have been wrong): Indeed...

Drek collapses onto the floor, Ranvi throws the holocron away and rushes to him. He is waking up as she's holding him in her arms.

Drek (sobbing): Ranvi... I... I did unspeakable things... I did all of this... I... I was the one murdering them...

Ranvi (hugging him): It wasn't you, it was Ragnos! I know it hurts more than anything... I know what it feels like to lose your family... We will survive this, okay? Together, we'll come around and get through this.

Drek: Ranvi... I... I can't bear this... I haven't just lost my family... I have seen them die at my hands... I can't process this...!

Lana (putting your hand on his shoulder): We are here to help you Drek! You don't have to fight this battle alone!

You hear footsteps from the corridor, and then a group of Jedi and clone commandos rush in and surround you four with weapons pointed at you all.

Jedi commander: Drek Modme! By the order of the Jedi council, you are under arrest and shall be detained indefinitely! Do not resist! I am warning you, we are authorized to use lethal **** if necessary!

Ranvi hugs Drek stronger than before.

Lana: Hey, haven't you felt the wave in the ****?! Ragnos is no longer in him, we locked him away into that holocron!

Jedi commander: Sorry, but our orders are orders! We are taking him to Coruscant, where the council can decide his fate!

Anakin: You are talking about a fellow Jedi, you do realize that, don't you?!

Jedi commander: What I think of this matter is irrelevant! As is your opinion! We are ordered to arrest or terminate anyone, who tries to shelter the fugitive!

Lana (as you ignite your lightsaber): You can try!

The commandos ready their weapons and point them at you. Before ordering them to fire, the commander's comlink beeps. The council has ordered the task **** not to kill Drek or anybody, only to detain him and take the holocron with them, so that it could be sealed away. After the commander announces the new orders, you aren't satisfied with what you hear.

Lana: You can't take him just like that! He has been traumatized by that Sith lord, he needs help, not to be thrown into a cell again! Haven't you learnt anything?!

Jedi commander: My orders stand, we are taking him in, with, or without your acceptance. Please, stand aside!

Drek (standing up): It's alright Lana, I'll go with them willingly...

Ranvi: Drek...!

Drek (giving his deactivated lightsaber to the commander): I understand that I must take amends for what I have done... Or what I wasn't able to prevent... It is still my failure... I am facing any judgment or punishment the council would see fit. Take me back to the temple.

Jedi commander: I understand. Thanks for your cooperation. Back to the ship men!

Ranvi: I'm going with you Drek, I won't let you carry this burden alone! I'll be by your side as long as this lasts!

Drek (as they handcuff him): Thank you Ranvi!

Anakin (after they had left the palace): Lana... There's something you need to know.

Lana: I was wondering when you would say that!
