Chapter 2
by JohnTitor45
What's next?
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I woke up on a cart being transported by Imperials that had captured me.
"Hey you, you're finally awake. You were trying to cross the border, right? Walked right into that Imperial ambush, same as us and that thief over there."
"Damn you Stormcloaks. Skyrim was fine until you came along. Empire was nice and lazy. If they hadn't been looking for you, I could've stolen that horse and been halfway to Hammerfell," the thief he was referring to us muttered before turning to me. "You there, you and me, we shouldn't be here. It's these Stormcloaks the Empire wants."
"We're all brothers and sisters in binds now, thief." the Stormcloak said.
"Shut up back there!" the Imperial soldier driving the cart told us.
"And what's wrong with him, huh?" the thief asked, gesturing a man who was gagged.
"Watch your tongue," the Stormcloak said. "You're speaking to Ulfric Stormcloak, the true High King."
"Ulfric? The Jarl of Windhelm?" the thief asked. "You're the leader of the rebellion. But if they'd captured you... Oh gods, where are they taking us?"
"I don't know where we're going but Sovngarde awaits."
"No, this can't be happening. This isn't happening."
"Hey, what village are you from, horse thief?" the Stormcloak asked.
"Why do you care?"
"A Nord's last thoughts should be of home."
"Rorikstead. I'm from Rorikstead."
"General Tullius, sir! The headsmen is waiting!" the Imperial soldier said.
"Good, let's get this over with." Tullius said.
"Shor, Mara, Dibella, Kynareth, Akatosh, Divines, please help me." the thief said.
I saw that we had arrived in Helgen.
"Look at him, General Tullius, the military governor, and it looks it the Thalmor are with him," the Stormcloak said. "Damn elves, I bet they had something to do with this. This is Helgen. I used to be sweet on a girl from here. Wonder if Vilod is still making that mead with juniper berries mixed in. Funny, when I was a boy, Imperial walls and towers used to make me feel so safe."
"Who are they, daddy? Where are they going?"
"You need to go inside, little cub."
"Why? I want to watch the soldiers."
"Inside the house, now."
"Yes, papa."
"Why are we stopping?" the thief asked.
"Why do you think? End of the line," the Stormcloak replied before turning to me. "Let's go, we shouldn't keep the gods waiting for us."
"No, wait, we're not rebels!" the thief said.
"Face your **** with some courage, thief." the Stormcloak said.
"You're got to tell them! We weren't with you! This is a mistake!"
"Step towards the block when we call your name. One at a time." the Imperial captain said.
"Empire loves their damn lists." the Stormcloak muttered.
"Ulfric Stormcloak, Jarl fo Windhelm." an Imperial reading a list said.
"It has been an honour, Jarl Ulfric." The Stormcloak said.
"Ralof of Riverwood."
The Stormcloak who had been talking stepped forward.
"Lokir of Rorikstead."
"No, I'm not a rebel. You can't do this!" the thief, Lokir, said. "You're not going to kill me!"
Lokir tried to run but was killed by archers.
"Anyone else feel like running?" the Imperial captain asked.
"Wait, you there. Step forward," the Imperial with the list said.
"Who are you?"
