The Bidding

Jimmy and Lois had entered the Metropolis gala hall, staffers everywhere collecting donations, they took their their seats, Lois coould hear snaps from Jimmy's camera, she took a sharp look in the mirror adorning a nearby wall brushed her dress down and admired herself she smiled...watch out Superman Lois Lane always gets her story! Suddenly the snaps intensify, Lois turns to see what has Jimmy's attention and there it was Lorelei propping up the bar looking eqsuite in a Violet dress "It's Lorelei Ambrosia..." Says Jimmy "she's Webster's..." Lois cuts off the sentence "She's just Webster's but what is she doing here tonight? Why would Ross Webster's piece on the side want a date with Superman", Jimmy cuts in "Why would she need to pay Superman have you seen her?", Lois frowns at him and pulls the straps on his camera that twang back hitting him in the head.

The MC takes the stage "Ladies and Gentlemen, we want to thank you all for coming tonight, we hope you're having fun but we also hope you remember why you're here tonight...", catcalling starts "YEAH FOR A DATE WITH SUPERMAN!" The MC laughs as he continues "I'll keep the short ans sweet we've already raised an estimated $40,000 to help the people of Columbia and I'm sure you ladies...and maybe some men as well will want to dig deep for the main prize lets here it for Superman" Superman takes the stage. "Superman would like to add a couple of caveats to this dinner, number 1 if he needs to !save for example in case of another natural disaster the dinner can be rescheduled, if he has to leave tonight the bidding will continue without him so without further do lets start do I hear $100?"

Every woman in the building throws their hands up within the first 2 minutes we're in. Multiple $1000's, Lorelei just sits at the bar her paddle next to her, her perfectly manicured violet nails drumming her glass, Lois' eyes are locked on her. The MC continues "wow the bidding currently stands at $10,000 anymore offers?" the room starts to die down when Lois puts her paddle up "$11,000", Lorelei looks at Lois smiling she finishes her drink, takes the cherry, the MC looks across the room "Anymore? Going once..." Lorelei bites the cherry in half and swallows "Going twice...." Lorelei lifts the paddle "$100,000" the room gasps, Lois literally spits her drink allover Jimmy's shirt "$100,000!!!! The lovely lady in the violet dress has turned up the heat, come on now people..."

Superman standing on the stage incredibly uncomfortable like a piece of meat, had been constantly looking at Lois hoping she'd win but when that $100,000 bid came in he'd seen Lorelei, instantly his mind went two places, God she's beautiful and then the same thought Lois had why would Ross Webster's girlfriend want an evening with him it didn't sit well...

The MC continued "$100,000 going once" Lorelei gives Lois a knowing smirk, going twice Lois reaches for her paddle when an old voice pops up from behind "Am I late?" It's Belinda Bellchester 92 year old socialite and Metropolis' richest senior citizen the MC answers "Why certainly not Miss Bellchester the bidding stands at $100,000", Belinda smiled "Splendid $200,000" the room erupted Lorelei for the first time seemed concerned, Lois laughed looking at Lorelei at least they'd both lose she thought, Lorelei retorted $210,000, Belinda responded $220,000 this went one till they were at $350,000...Lorelei calls over a familiar looking waiter it's Gus she hands him a small tablet "it's a sleeping pill stick it in her drink", the bidding continues as Gus makes his way over to Belinda "there you go M'amm" a drink on the house", why thank you she hands him a $100 tip "HOT DAMN" he says as he admires the bill "No thank you"...within 60 seconds Belinda Bellchester was dead to the world and if someone hadn't checked her pulse they may have thought she was dead all together.

The MC trying to gather his thoughts "Ladies and Gentlemen this is incredible I believe the bidding stands at $450,000 to Miss Bellchester" Lorelei bids $460,000 turning to look at Lois "going once...going twice" much to everyone's disbelief Lois puts her paddle up "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" asks Jimmy, "I don't know says Lois" the MC looks over "Do I hear $470,000?", Lois looks sheepishly at the crowd and shouts "How about $460,001?" The room erupts in laughter Jimmy chimes in "Perry is going to kill you", Lois looking the opposite of Lorelei a confidence replies "I'll handle Perry" , Lorelei puts her paddle up "$500,000" Lois finally concedes defeat and the auction ends Lorelei approaches the stage and takes Superman by the arm.

Jimmy leaves Lois in her pit of jealousy as every shutterbug in town is trying to get a shot of Superman and Lorelei for their respective papers tomorrow. Superman uncomfortable with the armlinking breaks the ice "That was a lot of money miss...", "Lorelei, Lorelei Ambrosia", suddenly Superman just felt so good standing next to her, like he could could get lost in his eyes he hadn't even given Lois a second look since Lorelei took the stage. "Well miss Ambrosia I hope I'm worth the price...", She smiles back at him "oh you will be" Lorelei goes to step off the stage she stumbled and falls, Superman instantly swoops and catches her, Superman couldn't understand it just being close to her felt good, touching her felt incredible, she looked up at him with her big doughy eyes "My Hero..." She leaned in and they kissed, whatever resistance he had evaporated the second her kryptonite coated lips touched his, there was a fire burning deep within him, he wanted her, needed her more than anything he'd ever seen.

The crowd began to dissapate Lorelei looked at Superman "Put me down" he relectuantly agreed "Wait here honey while I sort out the payment" Lorelei walked off with the MC, the further away she got the feelings became less intense but it was there all the same he'd found the most desirable creature on the planet. Lois approached sheepishly "Hi Superman..." He turned to her barely making eye contact constantly looking back for Lorelei, "Hi Lois, I just wanted to get a quote for the daily planet", he ponders "...a quote I couldn't be happier with how tonight went not only did we raise a tonne of money for the great people of Columbia I got to meet the most beautiful woman in Metropolis" Lois blushes, "Well Superman I wouldn't say I was the most..." Superman cuts her off not even listening "Lorelei, Lorelei Ambrosia" the penny drops crestfallen a tear begins to fall down her cheek. Lorelei approaches "All done big guy shall we go" Superman nods the two start to walk away...Lorelei turns back "Miss Lane your mascara is running" the two of them leave into a limo driven by none other than Gus.

Lorelei begins to pepper soft kisses onto Superman's neck he's in ecstacy "What you do to keep me doing this?"..."ANYTHING", She smiles "I've got a friend I want you to meet" she turns to Gus "Webcoe Indudtries Gus and step on it" she turns back to Superman and kisses him deeply giggling as his hands begin to roam.
