Is Sue Storm ready next week?
Sue Storm Isn't Ready To Pierce Dr. Stone
In the privacy of her own room, Sue Storm stared at a plate with an entire ham.
It was full of holes.
The Invisible Woman panted. Her vision swam. Sweat dripped down her face. The back and sides of her head were tense, and she had to bite her lip to make the ham in front of her stop moving.
She visualized the invisible needle. It moved unseen. She saw the detent on the surface of the ham. A shallow little poke...then her eyes lost focus; the invisible needle slid, frictionless, through eight inches of meat and bone and out the other side.
The Invisible Woman's head hit the table.
"I'm not ready," Sue Storm admitted. "I was experimenting, but I just don't have the control yet, I'm going to hurt you."
Dr. Stone was dressed in a very tight sleeveless white top. It was clear she had no bra on underneath it, the shape of her nipples and areola were clearly visible. Sue, dressed in her Fantastic Four uniform that was more than a little form-fitting, felt prudish by comparison. The psychiatrist smiled.
"Would you consent," the psychiatrist said, "to a little experiment? A very light form of hypnosis. You wouldn't go completely under; it will just relax you so we can gauge your reaction to some images."
The Invisible Woman took a deep breath. She didn't like this kind of thing. She had met too many psychics and mental manipulators. Still...as long as it wasn't too intense...and if it might help her improve her control.
"Okay," Sue said.
"Excellent," the psychiatrist said. "I want you to sit back in your chair. Relax, but don't close your eyes. You're not going to sleep. You're going to be very aware, but very relaxed. Relax the muscles of your head. Your neck. Your shoulders..."
Dr. Stone's voice was smooth, calming, confident. Her head tilted, and the round rimless glasses caught the light for a moment, becoming circles of fire, as if her eyes were glowing. Sue Storm did not feel the gravimetric pulse that washed across her brain, but she suddenly became much more narrowly focused, aware, and very suggestible.
"Now," Dr. Stone said, as she reached for a tablet by her chair. "I'm going to show you a series of images...take your time and study them."
What kind of images does Sue Storm see?
