Chapter 5
by zewesman
“Her mind has been clouded by an unknown substance,” a soft and friendly voice rang out in Sydney’s head.
State of the Union
“Who said that?!” gasped Sydney as she quickly looked around the bathroom, only to see a room devoid of anyone but Gabby and herself.
Do not worry, I am a friend. I am Jean Grey, from Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters, here to formally offer you a chance to join us. We are a school for people like us, where you can be safe and learn to control your new powers. The voice calmly and serenely explained to the panicky senior of high school.
“Where are you?!” Sydney demanded to know.
I am right outside, you just need to let me in and I can explain more. The voice explained to Sydney.
“Alright. But uh..it’s kinda a mess in here,” Sydney warned the mysterious woman.
It is alright.
“Ok, here you are,” Sydney said as she turned the lock on the bathroom door. The door quickly opened and closed while the lock was also reengaged, but with nobody touching it. Sydney looked at the redheaded woman who stood before her. She was quite beautiful, despite the rather tacky green button up blouse with blue jeans she wore. She looked 100% like a soccer mom. However, her flowing red hair and stunning face showed that she was a total knockout. Plus, her blouse could not hide the curves of her clearly well sized breasts, and those jeans could barely contain her ass.
“It is a pleasure to meet you in person, Sydney,” the young woman spoke to her. It was clear she was in her late 20s or maybe even early 30s, still young but older than Sydney for sure. “I know you are feeling a mix of emotions such as fear, curiosity, and,” Jean stops for a second as a slight smile spreads across her face, “a few other ones. But we must focus. I can help you, if you’d like. As I said, I come from a school that is made to teach people like us how to control our gifts, so we can live a normal life. Or, if the person wishes, to help others and keep everyone, human and mutant, safe. The choice will be yours. But you must choose…” Jean finished her little monologue as she outstretched her hand towards the young fellow redhead.
A million different thoughts ran through Sydney’s head as she thought about what has happened since she gained these powers. She looked over to her best friend, who seemed to be in some sort of trance. She had been like that since Jean first started talking to her. She did remember what Jean had said about Gabby, that her mind had been clouded. That she seemed to only want to fuck Sydney’s new cock. She could not allow this to happen to anyone else.
“But..but what about Gabby?” asked the young, scared girl as her hand made contact with Jean’s own hand. Jean let out a soft smile that seemed to wash over Sydney as the older woman helped her to her feet.
“I will erase her memory of what has happened today. It should cure her of her ailment,” Jean explained to the girl.
“You can do that?!” asked an astonished Sydney.
“Yes, my mutation allows me to have great psionic powers, mostly telekinesis and telepathy. I can use my powers to wipe her mind. It is..an unfortunate thing to do. And normally I would ask for permission before using my powers, but this is an extraordinary situation where it is in everyone’s best interests that I do this,” Jean explained to Sydney. Sydney, however, was not sure if it was for her own good or for Jean’s own good.
Meanwhile, at Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters
“Professor, are you sure this is the one?” asked Scott Summers to his mentor and father-figure, Professor Charles Xavier. Xavier let out a sigh as he thought over the options before he answered his first X-Man.
“I believe so, Scott. There are three candidates I can detect with Cerebro, two of which are at this school. Of those three, one seems to be a better fit for us than the other. While I believe all could be great X-Men at some point, this young woman is at a better starting point for the short amount of time we have,” Xavier explained to his Second-in-Command.
“I see. But what of the other two people, Professor?” asked Scott, wanting to know all his options.
“Hmm. Perhaps they could fit but it would take too long for them to get here and get situated. This young woman is our best hope for now,” decided Xavier.
“Well then, I guess it’s all up to Jean to convince her to join us. But I don’t see why she wouldn’t. The school we’ve set up is very good academically and the mutant training will be very useful for her,” Scott said as if to convince himself.
“Indeed, Scott. Jean will be able to convince her to join us or, at the very least, use her telepathic abilities to at least figure out what she wants,” the Professor explained to Scott.
“But Professor, I thought you told Jean not to use her powers on people without their explicit consent?” asked Scott, who was surprised by Xavier’s mention of Jean’s usage of her powers.
“Ah yes, sometimes Scott, drastic times calls for drastic measures,” Xavier said as he moved his hover chair over to the window. “The world is becoming a far more dangerous place for us mutants, Scott, between Senator Kelly and Bolivar Trask, to Magneto’s Brotherhood of Mutants and this rumored Hellfire Club, I’m afraid it is going to get far worse before it gets better. We need to make sure we can get as many mutants on our side as we can before Magneto or someone worse gets a hold of them. In time, you will realize I am right.” Professor Xavier finished his lecture to his most loyal student who looked at him in silence as he processed the information for a few moments before he finally spoke.
“No, Professor,” he said calmly as he stared directly into Professor Xavier’s eyes. While his were hidden behind the red sheen of his ruby quartz glasses, even the Professor could feel his eyes bore into him. “You doing that, and you telling Jean to do that, makes you no better than the ones we are fighting. If we stoop to their level and use the same tactics as them, then what separates us from them?!” Scott said as his anger began to boil out.
“Scott, what-” Xavier started before he was cut off.
“NO! No excuses! I will gather the rest of the X-Men here and we will decide what to do with you and Jean’s liberal use of her powers to violate others!” Scott told his mentor, much to Xavier’s sadness.
“It seems you don’t yet see the whole picture, Scott. You are not yet ready to bear the mantle of leader of the X-Men. I am sorry…” was all Professor Xavier told his first child soldier as he raised his hand to his temple and mind wiped Scott of their entire conversation. “You are far too young to realize the hardships of leadership. Soon you will, my friend, and then the X-Men will truly be yours,” mused Professor X as he prepared his words better for the conversation that was about to repeat itself.
“After all, what harm could this young woman bring?” Xavier said to himself as he waited for Jean to return with their newest recruit.
