What's next?

She gets caught by Harry and Ron

Hermione was almost to the side door when she saw Harry and Ron looking around the Great Hall for her. When Harry spotted her, she saw him nudge Ron and point at her. They started running toward her to get to her through the crowd. Harry and Ron hadn’t realized she didn’t have a skirt on yet so she tried to make a run for it. She sprinted through the crowd shoving past everyone and had just grabbed the handle on the door when she heard running and panting behind her. She whipped around and saw that Harry and Ron had almost caught up to her!

Harry yelled through puffs of breath, “Hermione! Wait! Why are you running?!”

Hermione pulled the door open and slipped through before they could notice her half nudity. She whispered a locked charm on the door before sprinting for the Gryffindor common room.

She had made it all the way to the Fat Lady portrait without seeing another person, and had endured minimal calls from the paintings. She was in front of the portrait before she realized she didn’t have the new password! She could hear the rest of the Gryffindors coming up the stairs from the Great Hall talking and laughing with each other about the eventful first day. She knew she wouldn’t be able to get her change of clothes in the dormitories, but maybe she could hide and try to find the password by listening to the prefects?
