"Wow!" Lifts-Her-Tail said.
Ahnassi swallows."Ahnassi begin to see the wisdom of your rules, Walter."
Walt nodded grimly. "Welcome to Costco, ladies." He looked at their support team. "You know the mission. Once a item has been purchased collect it and bring it to the staging area. Do not immediately start loading. We all enter together, we all exit together. No one gets left behind. You all know your individual roles and are the best. Time to earn those paychecks, people."
"Sir! Yes, Boss!" Come the chorus of shouts.
Walt looks at the chaos, anarchy and madness before them that was the Costco parking lot. "Mount up people. Mission starts now!"
"... and once I hopped the fence they had me **** before I'd even hit the ground." Sienna shook her head, her arms crossed. "It was frustrating. I never even saw or heard them! Woke up trussed up like a pig on the porch. That damn Neo, Pyrrha and even Kali left me there a while to think about it. It's only in hindsight I can see it was for my own good. I was a fool."
"I can't believe you admitted all that." Pirotess said.
"I can't believe you admitted that you gave up after a single attempt." Mystique added. "Pathetic."
Demona and Baroness hadn't sad anything yet. They'd been to busy making their own plans.
Sienna's eyebrow twitched but she shook her head. "Walter asked me to tell you if and when you asked as a favor to him. I was a fool and I caused him genuine worry about me. You four don't understand yet but he's no ordinary human. And I'm not talking about his skills. He's the only human I've ever trusted. He's different."
"Because you slept with him you compromised your beliefs about humans," Demona shook her head. "That's what's truly pathetic."
Sienna growled. "I help you and get insults for it? Besides you really don't understand him... and we're not sleeping together!" She grinned. "You know what? I hope you try to escape! Try it a bunch of times! If the bear doesn't eat you I'll see you trussed up on the porch in the morning too!" She stormed out of the bunk house and closed her eyes took a deep breath.
When she opened them she saw Pirotess. "I'm sorry they said that to you. That was... uncalled for. There are extraordinary people out there that can defy our expectations of what the standard might be." Pirotess understood a little about what that was like.
Sienna smiled and nodded. "Thank you. I take it you encountered an exceptional human once?"
Pirotess nodded. "I did." She smiled. "He was my first major loss to a greater opponent than myself but he encouraged me... recognized me for not only my skill but as a person. He invited me to stand at his side as an equal and I did... together we tried to change things. Find a new future. I..."
Pirotess trails off and Sienna sees a softness in her face for the first time all morning. A tear rolled down her cheek and Sienna purposely looked away.
Pirotess takes a breath and shakes it off. "... and then he was gone and then he died."
Sienna didn't know this elf but... she reached out and awkwardly took her hand. When Pirotess looked up she said, "Do you want to take a walk around? I can show you a few things if you'd like?" *Is "making friends" supposed to be like this?* she thought.
Pirotess is surprised. She isn't good at "making friends". She wasn't good at dealing with allies either... though she had learned it takes effort. She pulls her hand back but she does nod. "Yes. A walk should be fine. Thank you."
Sienna nods. It was a start. They walked around the grounds. Then, after grabbing some first-aid and spray out through the forest. Sienna smiled. Pirotess seemed more at ease here. They even climbed a massive tree to sit on a branch and look at the valley spread out before them.
They hadn't talked very much. Sienna broke the silence and pointed. "I've explored a little bit. Most of the regular trails. Over there's one that goes up to a ridge. Very nice view, almost as nice as this one... that's where Walt's wife is buried."
Pirotess looks. "I see."
Sienna nodded. "He brought us all flowers and the next day I was a bit bored and tracked the truck. He'd brought her flowers too."
"He must have loved her," Pirotess said.
Sienna nodded. "He doesn't talk about it and he's better now. Friday won't tell us much either. It was before..." she waves her hand. "Well, before all this. What we do know is Walter was one of the first through the gates to the other worlds. They recruited him dangling the hope of fulfilling his one "wish"... but while successful in his quests, his goal was forever out of reach... it couldn't be done."
Pirotess is quiet. She knows a little something about what that's like.
Sienna sighed and nodded. "Anyway... that's the type of man he is. You're not quite like the other three so I thought you might like to know. What you do with that information is up to you..." She leaned back on the branch basking in the light. "I think I'll take a nap. It was a long night."
Pirotess nodded and Sienna shut her eyes. "Do you love him?"
Sienna mumbled sleepily. "Haven't decided yet... but he's a good man and a good friend... attractive for a human... I'm next in line... try sleeping with him... see what... happens... after... that..."
Pirotess is surprised that she shared so much with her. She wouldn't have guessed that. She leaned back against the tree but in the shade. She was tired too. It had been a long night and morning. Elves didn't really sleep but they did go into a resting state. This was as good a place as any. She also closed her eyes.
Kali came out of the kitchen. She had just finished cleaning up. She was so pleased. Senko was amazing and Haruna was quite good too! Both were hard workers as well as Roberta and Haruhime. And Sayoko was almost as unbelievable as Senko. Her ears perked up as she heard moaning. She blushed for a moment as she thought maybe Walter had come back. No. The sounds seemed to be coming from the living room! What was going on?
She entered the living room and with a few exceptions found most all the ladies passed out on the couches and chairs. The long night/mornings exhaustion catching up with them apparently.
"Honestly girls..." she looked at Blake, Penny, Pyrrha and Neo **** with Ilulu and Raven stretched across their laps. "...if you're that tired just go to bed." She stifled a yawn of her own and stretched.
Manami sat in a recliner. She hadn't been given deeper access with Friday yet but she was super excited by what she had even with limited access. She looked at Kali and pointed.
Kali looked and there was the sounds of the noises. Willow had a drink sitting in a large love seat but she wasn't drinking. Senko was behind her giving her a massage and making her moan. "K-Kali... look out... this ones... dangerous..."
"Is that a fact?" She asked rubbing at her own stiffness.
Senko smiled. "Would you like a turn next Kali? Have a drink while you wait? I'd like to pamper you."
Kali thought back to last night. Walter had tried giving her a massage and while he was most likely very skilled, "relaxing" hadn't been on her mind just then. She was still surprised at how great he'd been and how insatiable she had gotten. She shook her head. Not now naughty thoughts! Sometime later!
Willow seemed on the verge if passing out so Kali nodded and took the glass and sat down. "I think I'll take you up on that offer. Thank you"
"You're very welcome!" Senko told her. "Just give me a few minutes and you'll be next."
Five minutes later Kali was the one moaning.
The parking lot was a circus. People and creatures carrying on in a multitude of languages and sights.
A girl trying to eat something called an "Ice Planet" tried to board the Serenity until a man ran over and stopped her. "No, no, honey. That's not ours. We parked in 746 B not 647 A. Sorry for the confusion, folks."
Another man with forehead ridges came up to them asking if they had heard the word of Kahless the Unforgettable and wold they like to buy from their "bake sale". Walt passed. Once they were out of earshot he said the gagh definitely did NOT look fresh.
A Prime was loading a dozen blonde characters into a back of truck that were complaining but jumping up and down with glee while talking to another.
"Dude, with the way she is, how tough she is and the ease of use, you can buy her cheap from RD and never need another one... so why would you buy a dozen Darknesses from Costco?"
The other guy shrugged. "Coupon."
Two men with forklifts and massive crates, one with fertilizer and the other daipers, looking at the angry customers and their order and then going "oh, that kind of nursery" at the same time. Confusion sorted out they switched the orders.
As they neared the store Lifts-Her-Tail nodded. Stepping out of the way of a bunch of clowns loading a single, huge round bomb onto an Optimus Prime. "I think I'm beginning to understand, Master Walter."
Ahnassi squints and starts pointing at three familiar people holding up a shopping circular infront of their faces "reading". "Isn't that-?"
Walt grabs her hand, leading her towards the store. "Nope. It's not them. Come on."
She tries to turn around and point them out. "Ahnassi, is not blind, Ahnassi sees. That is definitely-"
This wasn't Walt's first trip to Costco. He pointedly looked away. "No it isn't. Totally different. Hey look isn't that on the list? Looks like theres a sale! Alright is everyone together? Ok, let's go."
They walk into Costco there are hordes of people and characters milling about. The aisles are stacked to the far distant ceiling over head. Employees are using portal guns, jet packs and levitation tech to reach them as well as good old fashioned lifts and cranes. There are also a bunch of characters assets that are either working or assisting shoppers. Donkey Kong is stocking some shelves while someone's Midna helps them get something and an elderly customer asks a Peter Parker for assistance.
On their way in a Sherry Blendy waved to them as she tiredly and repetitively greeted customers with a bored, "Welcome to Costco. I love you. Welcome to Costco. I love you. Welcome to Costco. I love you." She obviously didn't care about love anymore. Working retail had crushed it right out of her soul.
The store however is a more chaotic mess than the parking lot was! Screaming children, Jawas and gremlins run by unsupervised. Some customer knocks over a box of mushrooms with faces on them and as they spill across the ground people accidentally change sizes. A couple in tattered rags exit the store. They got the toilet paper they needed, and cheap, but the look on their faces says the price was too high. A ways off they could hear a Karen making use of her thu'um to give management a piece of her mind. Costco wasn't for the faint if heart.
Walt didn't have to ask. The two ladies repeated the rules and held his hands nervously. He nodded. "We'll take several breaks at some of the safer areas along the way. Looks like baking supplies is first on the list. Let's start there. Well have to board the train first for a couple of stops..." he starts to lead their expedition.
