Chapter 2 by peach or man peach or man

Pick a character:

Sam (22m retired cat-boy rogue)

You are Sam the Savage or at least you were known by that name before you hung up your blades and retired. A rogue known for their keen senses and deadly skill with the short sword, you've saved a number of adventuring groups from meeting their unfortunate ends at the pointy end of a dungeon's traps.

You have dark, midnight hair that covers your fluffy tail and ears. Your build is lithe and sensuous, and your stature is shorter than most humans. An iron sword and a shortbow are strapped to a large backpack full of all of your belongings and supplies.

After a long but uneventful journey through the countryside, you finally come upon Millville. The small town sprawls out in front of you as you crest a hill presenting as a hodgepodge of old wooden houses and freshly tilled fields in a large clearing carved out from the ancient forest that covers much of the eastern reaches of the kingdom. Following the only road, you quickly spot your new home and business. A sign hangs off of a single hinge, the painted image of a crescent moon has mostly worn off, nearly erased by the elements and time.

You'll have to think of a name for your tavern at some point. First things first however, you think to yourself, attempting to open the front door which immediately seems to be jammed in place. It takes a running start and a brilliantly placed double dropkick to dislodge the unlocked door. You turn in mid-air, your tail spinning wildly as you land on all fours before straightening back up and stepping in through the threshold.

You sigh as you survey the mess of a main hall in front of you. Broken, soggy floorboards and window fixtures fill your sensitive nose with the smell of wood rot and mildew.

Wondering if you'll even fix this place up by the time the Kingdom, or rather its contingent of bricklaying slaves, finishes their massive highway project, you start making a list of broken fixtures and appliances. Carpentry is really not your strong-suit and you quickly get overwhelmed by all the measurements. You figure that maybe you should just get a bunch of planks first and then you can probably just cut everything to shape. 'That's it, let's go shopping,' you conclude, 'I can hardly think in this musty old inn anyway.'

Until the highway is finished, you will have to get all of your materials from the town of Millville.

After propping open all the windows to air your new home out a bit.

Where to?
