You have recently come into possession of a run-down tavern in a small settlement named Millville on the outskirts of the Kingdom of Lordland.
The decrepit building clearly hasn't seen much use since the original wave of adventuring pioneers, but a new stone-paved highway currently being built through the area promises to bring a steady flow of travelers.
The highway is a joint project between the Kingdom of Lordland and the neighboring Nation-states of the Beastmen with the goal of increasing commerce and you expect to see this border-town boom in the next decade or two.
After spending your early years as an adventurer, you figure that a quiet life as the proprietor of a cozy inn would be a lovely way to spend the rest of your days, so you pack up all your belongings and head to the frontier.
