Robin returns while Gotham burns

Gotham international airport daytime, Dick Grayson and Aunt Harriett step out of exit. Alfred is waiting in one of Bruce's limousines, as Alfred loads the bags into the back a Petty thief grabs Aunt Harriett's bag, Dick gives chase once safely round the corner he strikes and knocks the thief down and taking back Harriet's bag "Stealing a poor defencless woman's bag in broad daylight, you wait till Gotham PD arrive", the thief laughs "Gotham PD? They're out of comission". Dick looks shocked, the theif takes his momentary lapse and escapes. Dick goes back around the corner only to see Alfred holding off 4 would be thieves using an umbrella as a fencing sword, Dick runs helping Alfred run them off "Penguin won't be happy about this they shout back as they make their escape. After being chastised by Harriett for getting involved Dick has Alfred explain the situation while they travel home to Wayne Manor.

Meanwhile at Gotham premier nightclub the Ha-Hacienda Joker, Catwoman and Riddler sit in despair... "No Batman or Police to solve my riddles what's the point" says the Riddler. "If Batman isn't here to try and stop me then the joke is on me and it's not a funny one". "Someone needs to stop that Diamond hussy there's only one woman who should have her claws in Batman, what shall we do?" The three sit and discuss further.

Alfred, Aunt Harriet and Dick arrive home at Wayne Manor, Harriet enters first as Alfred and Dick grab the bags "BRUCE!" Says Harriett Alfred and Dick look at each other preparing to take him down if need be. The two enter the house and there is Bruce acting entirely normal, "Hi Dick, Alfred", "Master Wayne" replies Alfred, "I know I've been acting strangely but I'm over that now...", "Aunt Harriett, I'd love a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich" asks Dick, "We're all out I'm afraid" adds Alfred, "You couldn't be a dear and get me some Aunt Harriet?", "But I've just got home and the shop is on the other side of town...oh ok then", "Thanks Aunt Harriett" says Dick as she leaves.

"Alfred has filled me on what's been going on" says Dick, "Yes I thought as much, I've been working deep undercover within Marsha's harem to catch her out at the perfect opportunity, she thinks that I'm wildly in love with her but it's all subterfuge", "Holy, love spell Bruce", "We need to go see Marsha she's going to turn this city into a criminals utoptia, we need to rescue the commissioner and chief O'Hara let's go Dick" Bruce and Dick head down the batpoles into the now dark, dank shutdown Batcave, Bruce doesn't even bring up what has happened to the cave as they suit up and jump in the batmobile, as soon as they leave Alfred uses his ace he pulls out the bat diamond and places back pride of place above the bat computer, the one that Bruce took was a fake created by Alfred for just such an occasion with barely enough power to keep the Batcave running for 10 minutes, Bruce was so focused on Marsha he didn't realise the obvious fake. He's had to keep removing the diamond everytime he leaves the cave for fear of Batman returning and taking the real one.

Batman drives passed several ongoing crimes despite Robins insistence that they stop, Batman eventually pulls over and stops some of Penguins goons robbing a young lady, they stop a couple more crimes on the way before stopping at Marsha's hideout. "What's the plan Batman" asks Robin, "We go inside and see Marsha and free the commissioner and chief" says Batman, "See her you mean stop her" Batman nods unable to even process the notion of stopping Marsha. They get out of the car and enter her hideout.

Inside Marsha awaits lounging on th sofa "Ah the dynamic duds to what do I owe the pleasure darlings?" Batman moves trying his best to position Robin in the firing line of the Cupid statue, Marsha hits the button and fires but Robin is too quick dodging out of the way as it as it pings off Marsha's diamond mirror "That wasn't smart Robin" says Marsha. "Neither was inviting me into your lair" her Moguls arrive on the scene "Stop the annoying bird in the god awful yellow and red suit", Robin grabs a sword from one of the Moguls and begins to take them on, Batman jumps into the frey attacking Robin "Did you enjoy the theatre darling, isn't Batman the best actor" laughs Marsha as the swords are clinging back and forth..."It was a great act except for a couple of things, firstly he was only prepared to stop Penguins petty crimes on the streets...not your goons, he couldn't bring himself to say he would stop you, and lastly he was completely unmoved by the state of the bat cave". Batman begins to get the upper hand until Robin swings the sword in Marsha's direction, Batman dives to protect her and Robin is able to get one incredible blow right to Batman's face dazing him, Marsha's Moguls begin to surround him "In fact Marsha, the only reason I went along with this farce was to grab this" he dodges the Mogul grabs the love dart and bolts for the door jumping into the Batmobile. Marsha screams "YOU HAVE FAILED ME MISERABLY DARLING, I TOLD YOU I EITHER WANTED HIM WITH ME OR DEAD AND HE IS NEITHER" Batman drops his head "NOT ONLY DID YOU FAIL AT YOUR TASK YOU ALLOWED HIM TO TAKE A LOVE DART" Batman apologises profusely grovelling at her feet, she simply points to the cell "I NEED TIME TO THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THIS RELATIONSHIP" Batman slinks away.
