Rex & Fantasy World

As the soul’s consciousness slowly returned to them, so did their memories bringing back their memories of their name, past, and where they're from. “M-my name is Rex.” I introduced myself as I tried to regain my consciousness. “Just what world are you sending me to? Is it a fiction-eh, another world somewhere I am familiar with?”

“Cool name and fitting for where you’re going, oh and to answer you question it isn’t somewhere you are familiar with, you’re not THAT lucky, it’s a world the residents call Domus. It has its own interesting history actually but we don’t have enough time for an entire history lesson, besides you’ll mostly learn it when you are there, so all you need to know is it is a fairly generic fantasy world.” The voice began trailing on. “Humans of course, elves, magic, beastkin, monsters, etc. All the hallmarks of a good starting point for a fantasy world, particularly an eastern one.”

Rex was still curious and so questioned who he was even talking to. “Who, or rather what, even are you? That reincarnation stuff is from Buddhist belief so does that mean they were correct!?” Rex asked rapidfire questions.

The voice seemed to chuckle at that. “Partially correct, to simplify something far grander than your mortal mind could comprehend in such a short amount of time: basically everyone is correct and incorrect. All religions both exist and thus they don’t exist at the same time.” Rex was stunned silent at this and so the voice continued. “As I said, best to leave that cat in that particular bag. Though to answer your question about who or rather WHAT I am well…”

The voice chuckled again. “As I said before, I am a god of rebirth. That shall be the start and end of that.” The voice said with such finality I couldn’t argue against it. “However what you really want is WHAT I look like correct?”

“Not really but I wouldn’t be against it.” Rex answered as he proverbially shrugged, having no shoulders after all.

The voice only laughed more. “No need to play coy, I can see the deepest parts of your soul after all.” The voice said before energy started converging in front of Rex’s soul before finally the voice fully formed. “Be honored I never needed a human form so I made this one just for your viewing pleasure!"

“Heh it’s just as androgynous as I expected.” Rex said stoically in response.

“Right!? One of the previous souls I reincarnated was a great fan of the work the character with this appearance appears in so when I was browsing through their soul I just KNEW this mortal coil would fit me.” The God of Rebirth, or GoR for short, laughed once more and somehow it gaining a body had only just made its laugh seem more dangerous.The body then snapped its fingers as if in remembrance, “Oh right, I almost forgot to have you choose what starting tickets you get!”

“Starting tickets?” Rex questioned.

“Yes, like in all gacha once you start a new file with a gacha game you get a few free rolls on the gacha machine.” GoR explained four tickets appeared in his hands, on his right was one gray ticket and on his left was three brown tickets. “I am giving a degree of freedom with this choice. So would you rather have the one silver ticket,” GoR emphasized the one lone ticket then, “or three basic bronze tickets.” GoR said before showcasing its left hand with the three tickets.
