“It seems you died mortal. So sad right?” A mischievous voice permeated the nonexistence that was your existence so far. This intruder shocked your awareness awake finally having something to hold onto to keep your identity straight. “Some time ago too. You already started dissociating.”
“No matter though I, a god of rebirth, am here and thus your boring nonexistence has come to an end.” The mysterious bodiless voice continued. “You see I am a bit different from my fellow gods of rebirth, instead of placing your soul to be reborn as another human or even an animal I instead intend to have you reborn in a fantastical world.”
“Now you may not understand, as multiverses are only theoretical to you humans, but other universes are real and all of them are more interesting then the one you came from.” The voice explained to you. “However I am different from my brethren in another way… I enjoy gambling.”
“Not with my life or valuables of course. I enjoy gambling with the souls I reincarnate.” The voice further explained. “Normally it’s just gambling with the usual luck based things: where the souls are born and what family to that sort of thing. Things are going to be different for you though, lucky you. You see, you mortals recently came up with a thing I find absolutely FASCINATING.”
“This mortal came up with a thing they call the ‘Chaos Gacha’, a thing to randomly roll and see what benefits you get. I got to say I myself have grown personally addicted to it and what better way to make it even better? Why have it affect reality, of course!” The voice continued whimsically, their tone contrasting with their words. “So why don’t we try it out?”
Suddenly it felt as if my soul was being pulled. “You may start slowly regaining your consciousness, dearly departed mortal. While that happens, why don’t I explain where you’re going while you introduce yourselves to me.” The mysterious voice offered. They must have sensed my unease as they answered my silent question, or at least one of them, “Don’t worry, we have enough time for that.”
