Reactions and Improvized Plans

Sergeant Foreman's POV

You blinked rapidly by the time you were done, trying to take it all in. You were struggling with some parts, however, especially the P.S. section.

Soon, though, you realized that every resident in the lobby was staring at you with anticipation and started orienting your thoughts.

"Well," You said slowly as you addressed the group, "This letter confirms it. She left the building."

Your fellow claimed ones started chattering among themselves at the news.

"Did our owner gave her permission to do so?" Asked the eldest of the Indian sisters in the building, sounding a bit confused.

It took you a moment to remember that her name was Divya Patel, both because you had only met her once before and also because her curvy breasts gave her already attractive form an even more appealing look...

You shook your head slightly, urging yourself to focus and to offer your pussy to your one true master when he returned so that you could get your distracting arousal out of your system. In the meantime, though, you opened your mouth to answer.

"No, based on what was written on the letter, this was a spur of the moment initiative on her part after something unexpected caught her attention," You explained. "It seems that Natasha sincerely believes that our owner would be most pleased with what she brings back with her upon her return, but other than the fact that she seemed to imply that it involves saving someone, I am not sure what she is talking about."

There were more than a few glances exchange then, and soon, the wife of Jeremy who had stayed behind while he and her son went with Zhang to loot some supplies in Team 2, frowned deeply. You quickly recalled that her name was Melissa Carter before she expressed her concerns.

"What could have been so important she would decide to travel across this zombie-infested city by herself? Even if she finds what she is looking for, there is no telling if she would be able to avoid being eaten on the way back," She said, sheer worry dripping from her tone.

Several residents winced at the mere thought, and she couldn't blame them. Then Melissa's daughter, Alyssa, looked past the window to the outside while biting her bottom lip. "Should we go looking for her?"

"We don't know where she went, from which direction, or even how long ago she left the building," Surya Patel pointed out as he glanced at his family, the second oldest man in the building looking uneasy at the idea. "With zombies all over the place and most of our more capable fighters already away from here, it would be extremely dangerous."

You pursed your lips. He was right of course. Although...

You blinked, tilting your head in concentration for a long moment. But then, you nodded to yourself and turned to the formerly richest guy around.

"Mr. Barnes, could I please borrow your solar-powered drones?" You asked. "Mr. Patel is right, but that doesn't mean we can't scout the city from above from the safety of the building to see if we can find the direction Natasha took. With any luck, that will make it far easier to regroup with her later."

Nicholas' eyes widened at the idea for a moment before grinning a bit with something resembling pride for the first time since you have known him. He clearly got into a better mood when he felt like he could offer useful contributions.

"Of course. Right away, Sergeant, I will be back soon." And with that, he headed to the elevator, presumably to reach his apartment and find the drones.

"Anything else we should know?" Aanya Patel, the middle one of the Indian sisters, asked of her.

Your face remained impassive as the young nurse asked you that question, but inside, you were hesitating. Natasha had said to inform the Master about some apparently very dangerous Russian women if she herself did not come back, but it said nothing about reporting these important bits of information to their fellow residents. You still weren't sure what most of what her message had meant, but a picture was starting to form in your head, and if you were right, there might be important reasons to keep the intel compartmentalized until their owner returned.

For if you were right, then Natasha Petrov used to be a Russian spy of some sort. And that made your mind spin with countless questions.

But for now, you needed to track her down with the drones if you could so that you could get some answers or at least know where to go if the bombshell blonde needed help. So, you decided to share what you thought would be safer and give them something before getting ready for the aerial patrol.

"Apparently she didn't have time to elaborate before needing to leave, but she said that tomorrow, a wall-safe in her apartment would be automatically opened and that more answers would be found inside, in case she does not live to return so that she can tell us herself," You said solemnly.

There was a thick and heavy silence at your words, some of them paling at the idea. And then your eyes hardened.

"And we are going to do what we can to make sure she can in fact come back and tell us herself," You announced. "No one gets left behind if at all possible. So, stay sharp."

Your gathered audience nodded in response, and the members of the group looking at you with growing respect was definitely good for your morale too.

Next, you told the ones who knew what they were doing to get back to cutting up the chunks of venison so that they could store them in their respective freezers until they could get their hands on some more salt, at least. And then, once Nicholas came back down with the drones, you told Allen and Private Karlsson to stand guard so that they could watch out for walkers for now. Finally, you told Zachary to come along so that he could take command of one of the drones, getting a feeling that his computer science skills may serve their group better on this task than for watch duty for the time being.

Now, with all your orders followed to the letter, Nicholas, Zachary, and you took charge of 3 solar-powered drones that took to the skies quite silently and without a hitch. And then, you focused on the solar-powered screen that allowed you to watch from your drone's camera to scout from above, paying close attention to Natasha's trail while also being on the lookout for potential opportunities.

And of course...potential threats.
