Chapter 39 by Forcy Forcy

Outrage and warnings

Sergeant Foreman's POV

Your eyes widened in shock at the news. But soon, confusion gave way to outrage.

"How DARE she desert our owner?!" You mentally yelled, barely able to restrain yourself from screaming. "And how could she walk away from our group? This is not the time to go AWOL and even if it was, she had no right to abandon her duties to our Master! We belong to him in every way, she does NOT get to run away from that sacred bond!" You raged in silence as your eye twitched.

Still, you **** yourself to take a couple of deep breaths so that you could calm down, suddenly aware that you didn't have the whole story. Perhaps she was just taking the initiative after something came to her attention. Or perhaps your commanding officer had given her a secret mission that was classified where your team and the other civilians in the building were concerned.

In the end though, you needed more details. So, you took the letter that Walter was offering to you so that you could read what she had to say. But silently, you swore to yourself that if Natasha didn't have a good excuse to explain her behavior, you were going to submit a formal list of punishments to recommend so that your owner can...remind the sexy Russian that there is only one true Master in this building, and it is NOT her.

You took a moment to compose yourself after your nipples started hardening, and then eyed the words on the sheet of paper.

Sergeant Foreman,

An opportunity presented itself and it truly can't wait. If it works, then our Supreme Commander will be very, very thrilled. But if I am not back in 24 hours, the wall safe hidden behind the only painting in my bedroom will open up automatically. So, if it comes to that, take what's inside there and use it well.

Wish me luck. But if I don't come back, tell our Master not to lower his guard near any seemingly harmless, green-eyed Russian women that go by the name of Yelena, Melina, or Dottie. Especially Dottie.

Most importantly tell him to do to them what I know he did to me without ANY reservations. Otherwise, the entire group will be at risk.

I am sorry I cannot explain more in person, but I can't let them die and the window of opportunity may close soon. And again, our owner will be thrilled with the results if I return with them in tow. Hopefully, I will be able to do just that.

But if I do not, if an undead monstrosity gets to me...or worse, please tell him that this is my dying wish: If he finds Rayse, and believe me, he will recognize him by that point if it comes to that...make him suffer before he needs to deliver the headshot.

I wish you good fortune in the fights to come, Foreman. Good hunting and, hopefully, see you soon.

P.S. If you see the shadows of zombies moving in ways that seem even more unnatural than even the walking dead that cast them, then aim for the light and RUN!

A/N: Well, here is the beginning of the answers to this sudden mystery. I hope you are intrigued and if so, I would definitely be interested in reading your feedback about what you thought of the implications in this letter.

The next chapter will also be a short one that will basically deal with Foreman's immediate reaction. But after that, we are back with the MC and Team 1/Lion. Until then, happy reading and have a good time!
