Raid: Knives & Saya

"Good god!" Saya panted climbing the tower and stepping over another downed body. "Don't you think you went a little far?" She asked looking at yet another beaten, tied up body.

"Shh!" Knives whispered cautiously as she finished **** out another opponent and looking around. "Not really," she said simply lowering the comatose player to the ground. "They're knocked out... for now. Having a bunch of the games recovery drones flying in and picking up fallen players would defeat the purpose of 'stealth run' and alert everyone, you know?"

Saya nodded. "Huh. I honestly hadn't thought about that. Good thinking. Whew!" She wiped sweat from her brow looking down. "Man what a climb. But Roman was right again. We can see most everything from up here," she said looking down at the camp. "Hey. Before I forget, thanks."

"For what?" Knives asked tying up the last sentry and adjusting her scarf.

Saya smiled. "I definitely couldn't have made it up here on my own. So thanks for that."

Knives grinned and gave her a thumbs-up. "That's what friends are for, Saya! Helping out with goals, lending a hand and pitching in during a beat down! That's normal. Don't worry I got your back!"

Saya snorted a laugh. "I guess your setting is pretty crazy too! Well... thanks for being my friend, Knives." She said checking her crossbow.

"You're very welcome!" Knives said tying off the rest of her rope. When things got crazy and they would have to make a quick descent. If she were on her own she'd simply jump and fight her way down. But it would be difficult for Saya. Getting Saya here and then protecting her was the job Roman had entrusted her with... and Saya was her friend! More over... "Besides we're way beyond just friends now!"

"Huh?" Saya asked setting her bolts within easy reach for fast reloading. "What like besties or-"

"We're sex friends!" Knives said winking.

Saya blushed and opened her mouth to refute... and came up with nothing. "Okay, technically accurate... but must you call it that?"

"Would you prefer 'friends with benefits'?" Knives asked. "Oh! Found them! Over there," she pointed.

Saya sighed at the 'code phrase' that meant the exact same thing that everyone knew. "Ugh. You know what? On second thought... Sex friends is fine." She looked where Knives was pointing and saw Roman and Risty making their way up the side of the biggest hut on stilts. "I see them. Yeah that must be the leaders 'palace' or someone important. Wow. They're almost as impressive as you! Guess Risty really is something of a stealth Character," she smirked. "Though she looks like a monkey climbing like that!"

Knives gave her a funny look. "You know she hates when you call her that, right?"

Saya nodded, smiling her fang showing. "Yeah. That's why I do it. To get her back for all the things that insensitive ogre does that annoy me!"

Knives smiled too but in a happy way. "I see," she said in a happy, amused tone. Roman was right. Tsundere's like Saya had their charm too once you understood them. "I'm so glad you two are friends too!"

"What? I-" Saya snapped a denial... or started too until she saw Knives happy smile. "Oh shut up! Let me concentrate!"

Knives nodded and continued smiling as she took her 'win'. "Oh there's Burt and Malty! Er, 'Bitch', I mean. Show time!" She pointed towards the duo as they started setting fires and causing mayhem.

Saya looked and took aim. "You mean 'Whore', right? Whoa... Burt may not look like much but he's kind of a badass in his own way." She watched him swing his axe and take down a part of a building burying a couple guys fighting them as Malty threw around fire balls. She sniped a guard charging towards the pair. "Surprise!"

Knives scratched her chin and shrugged. "I guess? It's confusing to be honest. And you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, you know." She drew one of her own daggers in preparation as Saya reloaded. The stealth portion of their mission was over.

Saya smirked glancing at the cute Knives Chau out the corner as she loaded a signal bolt to fire. "Yeah. You can say that again! Give me a light?"

Knives grabbed a nearby torch and held it out to Saya. "Time to get this party started!" She said watching Saya fire the flaming bolt in the direction of Carlos and their waiting allies.
