Prospects

Dark clouds blew in overnight, the smell of rain soon followed before it even actually struck. It came down hard and it poured.. and poured... and poured. The waves crashed into their island from every direction, the tides rushing in closer and further inland endangering most of the family in the process. As a family unit, a decision had to be made whether they were to keep going further inland or to stay at their beloved newly built home and weather through the storm.

"How confident are we that the stilts under the house are high enough?"

Aki asked her first three mates, since they were the ones that had poured their blood and sweat into building their beloved home.

"Will it hold if the waves keep crashing into them?"

The house groaned audibly as if on cue. Aki hugged her children closely. All five were old enough to sense the evident tensions in the air.

"You're a merchant Yilis, you've travelled many lands. If we are to migrate for the safety of the family... where would you recommend?"

Aki spoke, the snake boys shaking in her arms whilst Mio and Yun tried to play the older siblings part as best as they could.
