Finally, since Bolt hasn't really built the system more than this, since it is called a level system rather than a hero/gamer/whatever system I wanted to see if I can keep it fairly separate, while there are things that might seem similar... Well I just hope I am able to develop it right.

Edit: Most of my changes are silent due to it being punctuation or text formatting changes, I didn't really like my wording and couldn't figure out why, but now I think it is because it is too... heavy handed. So I am slightly changing the benefits, but it will be mostly the same. Chapter became a bit shorter due to it though.

This took me a moment to absorb. Luckily a small part of me was still aware of my surroundings enough that I went to a nearby bench and sat down.

‘OK, so it does change my XP gains. But intimacy!?’ I feel a slight trepidation but don’t go spiraling into panic mode like I think I would have before. ‘Is this a part of my Mental Faculties improving? But what if I’m bad at intimacy, what is altruistic intimacy anyways?’

Altruistic intimacy would be more on the focus of all's pleasure. Intent is also a factor.

‘Oh… Ok I think I understand. So what are examples of egotistic intimacy?’

Egotistic intimacy is for your own release and unconcerned for other's enjoyment or distress.

Oh, well that’s helpful, but I think I want to slap the programmer that separates XP and Exp as non interchangeable terms. ‘What are my Exp increases?’

I think about this for a second. Well with its generally stiff wording, it did say percentage of base amount so the normal rate should be 100%, meaning negative is halved, positive is doubled. This is quite a lot to take in, well maybe not a lot, but I need to understand the implications. Just because I’m on the path of good definitely doesn’t mean I need to be a hero. I mean helping people can also mean helping criminals, and if anything I could be a noble villain, where I still do stuff for me but have a strict set of rules and morals, I could also be a seducer. It also means I don’t need to get in fights just yet. Helping people can also be helping an old lady across the street or getting a little girl’s cat out of a tree. And since it seems to want me to interact and get close to people, finding some sexually frustrated female and helping her with that would get me points from multiple sources at once. I don’t think I’m quite ready for that but it doesn’t seem impossible. Actually that’s probably my mental faculties again.

I think back to what the message said and find I can recall it quite easily, almost like it had just popped up, then as a test to see if this was more of the mental increase effect I try to recall how many people I talked to. I didn’t have much luck except I think remembered all the XP gains I got and without counting them, knew how many it was. 194. Hmm and there are only a couple of them I actually remember what they looked like. So it seems like I can recall any of my messages perfectly by focusing my intent, and it is somehow separate from my ability to recall memories. ‘Interesting’. Anyways, back to the message.

This Improves any mental powers you may have, and your mental abilities. Such as Focus, Memory, Processing information, Using information, Creativity, Courage, Charisma (social), and more. Each level gives increases based on what you have used that level.

Ok, so I probably got the most in focus, processing, using, courage and maybe Charisma… social?

I really wish I had a stats screen, Though I guess maybe it isn’t kept track of with numbers and just changes my biological make up… My brain in this case. Not creepy at all.
