Ivy arrives

Poison Ivy had a sad origin - she was an innocent biology student until the Creeper, a horrible laughing villain, subjected her to radical chemical exposure. Now, although she was the Mistress of Flowers and could control plants, she was poisonous. She hid her beautiful lips behind a green mask in order to keep from accidentally touching anyone. And now she emerged from the shadows. "Good evening. You should all leave." she told the party guests enigmatically.

Selina was always worried Ivy might figure out her secret identity - she was one of the smartest, after all. So she intentionally spluttered ineffectually. "This is my apartment!"

"Then you can stay." Ivy said simply.

"Hey, speaking of crossbow wielding maniacs, here's one of my favorites." Harley said, leaning on a doorframe as people passed her.

Nobody noticed that Aphrodite hung around except the sharp-eyed Selina.

Ivy said, "The target of this attack was a reporter for the Gazette. I found out from shaking down some of the Huntress' associates. That means the Batman cartel is **** and they don't want us to know."

"Hot diggety!" said Harley enthusiastically. "We can hit 'em where it hurts!"

Ivy intoned, "We should gather as many heroes as we can. The Riddler, Mr. Freeze, Two-Face...even the Joker."

Harley winced, "Are you sure, Ives? It...hasn't been that long..."

"You'll have to work past your pain, Harley. And so will he. But we'll especially need the Catwoman. Sometimes you've known where to find her, Ms. Kyle?"

Selina hmfed. "That was a long time ago. I don't know where she is now. I can make some calls though." she said in an excellent acting display of petulance.

That was when Aphrodite stepped forward. "Just a moment, mortals." she said, her gentle voice so smooth that all three of Gotham's Girls turned towards her in awe.

"I am Aphrodite, goddess of love. I have searched the world for three brave women to be my Amazons, warriors for truth and justice and peace in the world of men. I have chosen you three to receive my gift. Tonight you require these gifts more than any other." Aphrodite said, raising her hand, magics spiraling.
