Returning to the Super Destroyer
Report for Medical Examination.
Upon my return to the Super Destroyer to automated fanfare, I took a moment to reflect that I had just completed my first mission of what I know to be many in my future. While I can probably do a lot more with just what I’ve got on hand, I knew that I really should not rest on my laurels. If I were to succeed in entertaining my Benefactor in all this… I will need to get my hands on more ordnance to deploy… and perhaps more hands on deck to deploy the ordnance.
First things first, I need to get better means of deploying ordnance. Thanks to my being a Jumper, I had access to a breadth of equipment with the only limitation to access being the cost of purchase for the item’s license itself. Accessing acquisitions, I checked the Dust Devils Warbond and earmarked the MS-11 Solo Silo Stratagem Support Weapon for priority purchase as I knew I would want to experiment with using the laser designator as a stratagem ball alternative in addition to the Solo Silo itself in terms of its explosive warhead’s filler.
My thoughts were then interrupted while I was going through what was immediately purchasable while still dripping in bug guts in the Main Hall by an announcement on the Ship Intercom from the ship’s medical bay requesting my presence for my first post-mission checkup.
Despite being in control of the ship, I suppose a doctor’s orders from the perspective of keeping the one in command healthy supersedes most non-critical activities so I decided to head on over to the medical bay after getting my armour washed off and notified the doctor as much.
As I approached the medical bay after getting my armour and my cape thoroughly rinsed over to get rid of the bug guts, it occurred to me that aside from a tighter control over the D.O.’s reports on my activities, I will need to give every member of the medical staff onboard the SES Prophet of Truth the same treatment in preventing them from reporting any physical and behavioural irregularities of mine from your average Helldiver from my nature of being a Jumper.
Releasing extra nanites and controlling them directly to infiltrate the minds of the medical staff while I approached, I made sure to only control their minds enough to ignore the more egregious differences my physiology might have and instill a directive to doctor reports to match, leaving them to their own devices more or less in order for them to still function properly in taking care of the crew.
What I wasn’t expecting though, upon getting myself into the medical bay was the… enthusiasm I was met with from the medical staff on duty at the time. Specifically, Chief Medical Officer Doctor Carpenter and Supplemental Medical Officer Dougal took personal interest in me.
