The Shower

The shower. I’m going to take a shower. Surely water doesn't count as clothes. If I’m just wet, maybe the curse will think I’m... underwater? Or something?"

"It's worth a shot," Viki agreed, her eyes twinkling. "But you can't go in there alone. What if you slip? Or what if you faint from the shock? Robin and I need to go with you."

"What?!" Sophie and Robin yelled in unison.

"For safety," Viki insisted, walking over and grabbing Sophie’s arm to help her up. "It’s a new invironment to be testing your curse, Soph. And you're in a fragile state. Besdies, now that you are naked all the time, a shower is no more intimate than when you're cooking dinner. Robin is your best friend and can supervise. And as a female, I will supervise Robin."

"I am not supervising her in the shower!" Robin protested, his voice cracking. "That’s... that’s crossing a line!"

"We crossed the line about ten minutes ago when you tickled her taint," Viki reminded him bluntly. "Don't pretend to be a gentleman now. Go on. Help her up."

Robin looked at Sophie, who looked absolutely miserable and in need of comfort. She was hugging herself, shivering slightly. He sighed, his shoulders slumping in defeat.

"Fine," he mumbled. "But I’m staying outside the shower, on the dry side. Strictly for her sake."

"Deal," Sophie said quickly, latching onto the idea of a shower like a lifeline. "Just get me in there, Robin. Please."

She reached out and took his hand. Robin pulled her to her feet. For a moment, they stood there, hand in hand. Sophie was completely nude, her skin flushed and warm. Robin was fully clothed, looking terrified.

"Let's go," Robin said, steering her toward the bathroom. "Come on, invisible-clothes girl."

As they walked away, Viki called out after them, "Don't take too long! And make sure you test everything, Robin! Test a shirt or something. You need to be thorough!"

"Shut up, Viki!" Sophie shouted over her shoulder, though her face was burning. She leaned heavily on Robin as they walked, the tension between them so thick it felt like the air was electrified.

As they entered the bedroom the three of them shared, Robin went over to Sopfie's dresser. "A shirt would be a good idea actually." He said, "just in case it reacts differently in water."

"It might make me feel more comfortable too," Sofie agreed, realizing that she missed her clothes even if she was the only one who could see them.

"I'll turn on the water, get it warm for you," Viki volunteered.

Sofie smiled appreciatively, having recovered slightly from her panic in the kitchen and living room. She found a large tshirt with Robin's help and slipped it on. Robin gulped as it dissapeared the moment it touched her shoulders. She looked up hoping against hope it would be fixed by now. But Robin shook his head, letting her know that she still looked naked. Sophie's **** shyness returned.

The bathroom was thick with steam by the time Robin managed to wrangle an embarassed, discouraged Sophie into the tub, the shower curtain pulled back just enough to make a tragic attempt at preserving modesty. Sophie sat on the edge of the tub, knees pressed tightly together, arms hugging her chest. To her, she was wearing her favorite oversized t-shirt. She shivered, not from cold, but from the terrifying realization that to Robin, she was just a trembling, very nude girl sitting on porcelain.

"Okay," Robin said, his voice echoing slightly off the tiled walls. He stood outside the tub, clutching a handheld showerhead like a weapon, looking everywhere except directly at her. "Viki said to be thorough. We need to see if the water... I don't know, interacts with the curse differently than solid objects."

"Just turn it on, Robin," Sophie squeaked, staring resolutely at the faucets. "And maybe close your eyes?"

"He can't close his eyes, Soph! We have to observe the results! For science!" Viki retorted, from around the corner, keeping an eye on Robin though not wanting to crowd the bathroom by being in it.

Robin's ears were burning a bright crimson, as he looked Sofie in the eyes. "If water splashes off invisible clothes, that proves they’re physically there. If it goes right through you, then... well, we have a ghost situation."

He squeezed the trigger. A gentle spray of warm water shot out, hitting Sophie squarely in the chest.

Sophie gasped, the sensation sudden and warm. She looked down, watching the water soak into her grey t-shirt, darkening the fabric. She saw the wet cloth clinging to her skin, outlining her cleavage underneath. "Okay, I felt that. It's soaking the shirt."

Robin swallowed hard, his eyes drawn magnetically to her chest despite his best efforts. He didn't see a grey t-shirt. He saw water hitting close to bare skin, droplets cascading over her collarbone, running down the slope of her breasts, and dripping from her nipples. The water did divert slightly around an invisible shape; it flowed exactly as it would over a clingy t-shirt.

"It's... uh..." Robin stammered, mesmerizingly watching a droplet catch on her nipple before gravity pulled it down. "It's hitting your invisible shirt, its just hard to tell since its now so clingy, Soph. The water is going straight onto your top. It's running down your stomach to the hem of your shirt and... uh... onto your legs."

Sophie looked down at her shirt. "But I see the water hitting the shirt! It's getting wet!"

"Hold on," Robin said, stepping closer. He needed to be sure. He adjusted the nozzle to a narrower jet and aimed it at her stomach. "Tell me if you feel pressure from the fabric or just the water."

"It's just the water," Sophie said miserably. "Oh god, this is so humiliating. I'm basically putting on a wet t-shirt contest for my roommate and I'm not even getting beads for it."
