She's All I Ever Wished For

Dane woke up to find an unfamiliar young woman standing beside his bed. His heart raced as all traces of sleep vanished in an instant. What the f—

"Good morning, Dane!" Her high-pitched voice was full of energy, an unsettling contrast to how she pretended nothing was wrong. Did I mention she was also completely naked?

"Who are you? Why—how are you in my room?

"Uh....I'm not sure. All I know is I'm here for you!"

"What? What's going on here?"

Then, three knocks sounded at the door—unhurried, familiar.

"Shit! Hide!" Dane jumped out of his bed and rushed to the door.

"I'm going out to get some groceries. Let me know what you'd like to have for lunch." Dane's mother said, the door ajar just enough for her to look back at him.

"Ok." Dane closed the door and sighed in relief. Yet, when he turned around, the young woman had vanished. Was it nothing more than an illusion? "Uh...hello?"

The young woman materialised right in front of his eyes and exclaimed, "Hi!"

His heart skipped a beat. Nothing about what he had seen was normal. Is she a witch? Or a ghost? Before his interrogation began, he walked over to his wardrobe and handed her a grey shirt and a pair of black shorts for her to put on.

"How did you disappear like that? Was it...magic?" he asked.

"You told me to hide. So, I did."

"Ok...Not really the answer I was looking for. Is that how you got into my room? You turned invisible so no one could see you."

"Nope. I was already here from the start."

Dane found himself not getting any nearer to the truth. "And you said you were here for me. What does that mean?"

"It means I'm here to do whatever you would like me to do."
