Arc 4: Making ammends

Location: Outside Midoriya's apartment.

"Do you have everything you need for your trip back home?" She said with a smile as she was tidying up my suit before I leave her house, it was rather embarrassing to be treated like if I was her actual son but it made me happy.

"Yes ma'am, I got all I need, thanks for everything even the parts that I shouldn't thank so much since its weird now"

"Spea-speaking of uhm- Keep this a secret from Izuku please"

"YEAH OF COURSE HOLY CRAP YEAH!"

"Thank you" She smiled "Also if you ever want to talk you can come here, or if you are hungry since I don't think you are the type to cook much or eat healthy food from what you told me about yourself"

"I am not the best chef... not as good ma'am"

"And please no more calling me ma'am I am not that old" She blushed "Inko is fine"

"Yes... Inko... Miss Midoriya" It was as close as I can go I needed to use more honorifics with her or else I felt I was disrespecting her.

"Take care okay Jack? Don't be afraid of visiting"

"I might be nervous but I promise I will visit in the future"

"You take care okay? And before you go wait here" She went inside for a moment as I just stood there looking down at my blue suit, realising how stupid I must've looked yesterday, I need tips on how to talk with people like a normal person it seems, she finally came back with what seemed to be a 3 layer bento box and hand it to me. "There you go, some meals for today and tomorrow if you are not hungry today, that way you have a nice reason to come back" I smiled at her and nodded

"Thanks" She hugged me before I left and I hugged her back and made my way back to the train station.

Once waiting for the train I thought about what she had said, to be a better person to make ammends and how I technically have been a horrible person towards Izuku so far so I should start from there, I started thinking how can I make this guy's life better, if I give him gifts he will decline, if I somehow get him in a room with Ochaco he will end up just playing guess the number or I spy with my little eye and no relationship will happen from there so I have to give that time, like 5 more years or something.

I sighed exhausted as I looked at an ad about hero courses, while in the train station, it would be nice to have the ability to give him a quirk or something like it. That would be like the best- Then the idea hit me.

"Maybe I can do that..." I quickly pulled out my phone as I opened my contacts scrolling to the bottom since the only people I talked with were the girls everyone back at Nemo must be below, only issue was that I never added them to my contacts, it was just a bunch of normal avatars and numbers, I took a deep breath and took a gamble with a number I recognised as I text them.

I wrote my message, took a deep breath and waited a reply and after a few seconds the person replied to me.

After an awkward conversation and an unnecessary photo to mock me I took a few minutes to process what I should say to her, then as the train arrived I started to wonder how to start the message, perhaps be straight with it? No that would be too rude and Tsu always tells me to be nice, I will go with something more casual, the second thing was the proposal I must make, I wrote in my phone what I needed to ask in my notes and once it was finished I quickly sent a text to Sirli.

Location: Back at U.A Dormrooms.

Izuku knocked at my door as I was placing down my laptop charged and with the camera on for a video conference. "Jack? Its Izuku" He asked as I quickly ran to open the door, finally wearing some normal clothes too, I quickly grabbed his hand and pulled him inside of my room before closing the door with lock.

"Uuuuuh what's happening?"

"Shhh- shut up, no, no sorry, sorry, please be quiet and let me explain" I cleared my throat "I want to present you someone, this person is known as the smartest person at Nemo, she is currently rank 14th of my class and she is a person who lacks a lot of strength, power, speed but yet is still a hero"

Deku was a bit confused and all he said with a concerned happy face was "Okay?"

"Let me present to you Sirli Visk! Hero name: Knowledge Devourer" I stared at the laptop for a moment as it was buffering, trying to load the video. "G-give it a second my uh- My laptop is not the best..." It was some awkward seconds until the video finally started.

"Is this one?" A feminine voice came from it but we couldn't see her.

"Uh no, try perhaps refreshing the program?"

"Its not me its your bad connection there."

"Ight just... Give it a second" After a while it finally gave image as there was a girl in a very messy and dirty clothing setting up the camera properly as she sat on her chair, her room was dark, messy, she looked like she hadn't sleep in days either, glasses, braces she was rather tall too, taller than I was "Sirli! Tadah"

Izuku approached to me and whispered "She doesn't look okay?"

"Hm? Nah she looks like that often trust me... Sh-she is fine. Sirli! This is Izuku Midoriya, the star hero child, defeater of Shigaraki"

"I am aware, yes."

"Well Sirli here its an inventor she makes really useful things, like gadgets, items, technology out of your world and here its the thing, I asked her to help me to help you, to have something to be a hero again, like a power armour like some of the students back at Nemo use"

"Hm?" Izuku was a bit confused about it.

"Woah hold on? A power armour? You said it was for a few gadgets" Sirli quickly interrupted

"Well that's a gadget, I have other ideas that could help and add more"

"Wait you want to give me a power armour so I can become a hero again?" Izuku asked with a doubtful expression

"Yeah! Win win! See?"

"I think he is more confused about the fact of why you are doing this Jack"

"Becaaaaause I want to help. I really think that you should keep doing hero work and for that you would need-"

"A ton of money" Sirli interrupted "Look Jack this is nice and everything but the thing you are asking me to do, although possible, takes a lot of expenses, its not just one thousand or two thousand for jet boots or whatever you are thinking of"

"But you use gadgets all the time and they break and you make more and I don't see you living in a mansion"

"I do not live in a mansion because all the money I invest in stocks and sponsorships deals go to my hero work. Mine. Not others"

"Okay so what are we talking about here 500k? Maybe 600k?"

"Jack uhm- You don't need to spend that much money on me, we barely know each other and I am okay with my life right now"

"No, no wait hold on no, don't deny this, I won't let you deny it"

"Well Jack assuming that I somehow get the time to go there, take measurements at Izuku's form, then made all the blueprints for the armour, money is the big issue, the normal armours some students at our academy use cost around 50k each, those only give them 3x their strength and some resistance at best is a weak exoskeleton"

"Okay, let's say how much would it cost for it to fly, maybe shoot gas and lasers and weaponry and cool stuff like in the animes?"

"Jack-"

"NOT DENYING IT DEKU"

"Like around 20-"

"20 thousand?"

"Million, for the prototype which will 100% break in about one or two weeks guaranteed"

"... What?"

"Technology its expensive that's why you have never seen me in power armour just my little cool gadgets"

"... No, no hold on that makes no sense I have seen people using them"

"Jack- its-

"No its not okay, don't say that stop that right there. I've seen people using these types of tools all the time, it shouldn't cost that much"

"One or two things to boost your quirk is not expensive, it is your quirk after all, but you are talking here about making the quirk itself and that would take a long while, making flying boots would cost 10-20 thousand maybe sure? But they would break easily and not be adept to battle you are not seeing all the variables alongside the most important variable being that the person wearing it, doesn't die while wearing it, I expected your offer to be something more light, I would be glad to give Izuku something however. I am not a big fan of him, but one of my sponsors is"

"I appreciate the offer but its okay"

"Give me a moment with him please"

"Take your time I did open up my schedule to listen to you" Sirli said as she looked back at her other computer.

"Izuku please this is like a huge chance, if its money I have some, I have enough money, let me do this for you let me help you"

"That's the thing Jack you don't need to, I am happy the way I am right now and you heard her even if you give me something it would cost a lot and break after a while, its really okay and I appreciate you trying to do this for me but I will decline for now, perhaps in the future when everything is better for all of us, you don't need to spend any of your money"

"Its not my money"

"That doesn't make it any better. I already made my dream come true, I got to be a hero and help people and I would love to be a hero again but if it means making someone's life harder I don't want that, All might's armour costs millions of dollars, it broke in its first fight it was the most expensive tech ever used by a man and they are top engineers with a lot of resources"

"Listen to the kid that knows more about economy than you Jack, either get rich or don't waste my time" Sirli mentioned as it crushed every little attempt I made to things better.

"Yeah- Yeah okay... Sorry to drag you into this Izuku"

"Its alright! It was nice to meet you too Sirli"

"Pleasure seeing you even if through a screen"

"Jack I appreciate the effort but there is no need for those things"

"F-fine... Fine no need okay, but if I ever find a way to do this I will"

"Well if that happens then I would gladly take the offer" And with that said he left my room as I felt like a dumbass couldn't do anything right not even when I was trying to make ammends, but then I remembered that there are some things out of my control and that due to that I shouldn't worry so much about them, but still... The walls of my room changed shape and colour as I used my quirk to relieve some stress.

"... You are acting too strange Jack"

"Ah shit I forgot you were here"

"Indeed, enjoying your time in Japan?"

"Evidently as you can see, making friends and trying to make everyone happy"

"That's nice of you. Good job, however there is something I wanted to talk to you about, Last month you needed to take your aptitudes test" I gulped as I heard that.

"Well I am outside of the country as you can see"

"Yes, Trivia is upset about it. You will need to try and make some jobs and send them to him too, if you can"

"Yeah I get it, make proper hero work, make reports"

"Also one last thing"

"Ugh- What?"

"Keep it up. You look... Better since last time I saw you"

"Hm? What do you mean"

"Happier, its all... Goodbye"

"Bye-" She suddenly disconnected as I was left there staring, I saw my reflection on the computer screen... I looked a bit happier yeah.

I pulled out my phone to write at Tsuyu a text message

Maybe not everything was lost... I can do this, I can be better
