Chapter 1

There are many djinn in the world and they vary in their wish granting depending on their rules and personalities. Some grant three wishes and others can grant infinite. Some may seek to help those who come upon their lamp, while many twist the wishes out of spite. The djinn that waits within the abandoned lamp by the side of the road has a specific condition and ability to allow it to fulfill wishes. It may only grant wishes made by third parties about the one who finds the lamp and if they do not choose to wish, the djinn can draw their wishes out of them. There is only one way to surrender the lamp and the cursed djinn that lives inside. One of the wish-makers must answer honestly that they like the lamp-holder "just the way they are."
This djinn was bound by a single task to change its master according to its interpretation of the many wishes it hears. Once upon a time it may have had the best interest at heart for its masters, but after working tirelessly for so long it grew bitter, cruel, and, most of all, bored. It wasn't difficult to twist a vague wish here and there, especially when the wishes were **** out of someone without forethought. Changing its master became a game for the djinn. Often wishes would allow him to change physical features to suit beauty standards, but other times it was able to change the mind as creatively as it could. Unfortunately for its next master, the djinn was in an especially fowl mood. Its last master had been lucky enough with their encounters that everyone who wished changes on them had truly desired for them to succeed. Despite its usual trickery, the djinn had **** but to improve their master until their now-fiancé had broken the curse with the magic words while proposing. It was sickening. The next person to find the lamp would not be as lucky.
Who finds the lamp?
The protagonist finds a cursed djinn that only grants others' wishes that change the subject. The magic of the djinn will compel an honest wish from anyone asked until someone says "I like you just the way you are." While the wishes are heartfelt, the interpretation is entirely up to the djinn in question. The changes may stack or be altered to complement each other over time.
