Chapter 9

Should I possess Sayaka or resist the temptation?
No, I need to focus on my original plan
I grinded my teeth, doing my best to resist the influence that Tori's personality had on me.
No, I won't possess her… I then grinned more sadistically. But I can scare her off.
I cracked my knuckles while glaring at her, trying to look as intimidating as possible. "Listen up, bitch, because I'm only going to say this once: Leave me and Vanessa alone, or I swear that you'll have a taste of what I just gave to Rita a few minutes ago." I slammed my hand against the wall, inches away from Sayaka's head. "Now, you'll shut the fuck up and let me take my shower in peace. Understood?"
She stared defiantly at me, completely unphased by my intimidation. Her pride really was something else… "I told you, I'm not scared of you."
I walked back to my own stall, frustration still building up within me. "Just shut up while I finish my shower."
I quickly washed myself, not really in the mood to stay near Sayaka any longer. I wasn't sure how much longer I could keep Tori's personality in check.
I couldn't really enjoy the shower, just because of this cunt…
I left the showers and went back to the lockers, ready to leave the school. I grabbed Tori's torn uniform and hastily put it on, feeling less weirded out than this morning.
I'm really getting used to being Tori… I shook my head, I had other more important things to do than think about that. Let's move and see what I can do.
As I left, I saw Cornelia shaking in a corner, before rushing inside the locker room when I was farther away. Seeing her seemingly scared of me made me chuckle.
Heh, it's weird to have this kind of effect on people. I couldn't say that I was the scary type, before, even if I was pretty tall.
I went outside, thinking about what I could do. It might have been because of Tori's... impulsiveness, but I was feeling courageous enough to try sneaking into the castle.
Tonight, I'll wait around one of the paths that lead to it and ambush someone.
As I walked past the school gate, I thought of my close friends. I still wished to reassure them, tell them that I was alright despite my situation.
Should I go see Sophie and Jane in this state, though? After pondering for a few minutes and remembering what I currently looked like, I decided not to see them right away. I think it's better if I see them once everything's over. I'd be too ashamed to meet them dressed like this, anyway. I'll write them a letter to reassure them, though.
"Hey, playing the statue?" Vanessa asked, appearing behind me and giving me a light jab in the arm..
“V?"
She eyed me curiously. “What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Was just thinking of some stuff."
Vanessa smirked. "Wanna grab some booze? I managed to keep my stash while running away."
Tori would have accepted, but I couldn't. I needed to be sober for what I had planned to do. "Sorry, got something planned with my dad this evening."
"Your old man got a date last night, right? Who's your future new mom?"
I chuckled. "Heh, it's too early for that. I haven't even met her yet. But I might next time, he apparently liked her a lot."
Vanessa tilted her head, her eyes betraying that she was slightly worried for Tori. "And you're okay with that?"
Tori loved her mother, but deep down, she was happy that her dad was moving on, even if she still acted like she didn't care.
I smiled at Vanessa. "Yeah, I am. If Dad's happy with her, I'm fine with it. As long as she's not too much of a bitch, of course."
Vanessa chuckled. “You'll have some competition, then."
"Fuck off." I laughed. “Anyway, see you tomorrow, V."
She waived her hand. “Ciao."
I parted ways with Vanessa and went to Sophie and Jane's house. On my way there, I was trying to think of how to formulate the letter I'd leave for them. I found a place to write it down, and focused on trying to use my own handwriting instead of Tori's. It took a fair bit of concentration, but I managed to write in a similar way.
"Sophie, Jane. I'm writing to you so you know that I'm safe." Some things happened, and I can't see you right now, nor can I contact you with my phone. I'm trying to fix my situation, and hope that I'll be able to do so fast. I'll contact you again, once it happens. But I can assure you, I'm safe. Ben."
I observed the note, satisfied. The handwriting was similar enough. That should do it. Now, I just need to put it in their mailbox without being seen.
After checking that the coast was clear, I went to the mailbox and quickly dropped the letter inside. I hope they won't worry too much.
Once done, I walked back to Tori's home, ready to rest until the evening. I didn't know how long it would take to find someone, but I wanted to be well-rested.
Dropping my bag, I quickly went to lay on the bed, sighing. "Ah, the day is finally over… Tina Koya doesn't seem too different from my own school. I guess high schools are all the same. They all seem to have rich assholes, bullies, and delinquents."
My body slightly tensed as I thought of what I had planned to do. "I plan to possess someone else to get inside the castle, but I don't even know what will happen with Tori once I leave her body." I looked at my hands. "Will she remember everything? Is she conscious? I'll have to check once I switch to someone else."
I set up an alarm and closed my eyes, slowly drifting off as I was thinking of the castle.
I wonder what they're hiding in there… Considering the security system, nothing legal, that's for sure. I'll find your secrets…
I woke up a few hours later, feeling more relaxed than ever. I got up and stretched a few times. After the boxing match, this nap was wonderful. It was similar to how I felt napping after a hike. I went to the closet in order to find some clothes better suited for what I was about to do. I grabbed a black shirt, a pair of cargo pants, and a warm coat."
“Here we go. Perfect."
I took a last glance at Tori's room, smiling. I only spent one day as her, but it was a fairly interesting day. I enjoyed being an intimidating delinquent for this short amount of time. And, being in her head, I knew that Tori was a pretty nice person, deep down.
"Being you was fun, Tori, but I'd like to be me again now. I already took one day of your life from you, and that's enough."
I left the house, coming up with an excuse to give to Tori's father, and walked towards the forest, taking the same path I took last night. It was where I met the shady blue-haired woman, so I thought it would be a good place to plan an ambush. I hid myself in the bushes, waiting for someone to appear.
After some time, I spotted a ginger woman in combat gear coming towards me. She was shivering slightly, huddling herself. "It's cold... Damn night..."
She'll do nicely.
Judging from her outfit, I assumed that she was a fairly capable fighter, so I had to be careful and wait for her to turn her back from me. Tori may be an experienced boxer, but I didn't want to take any risk against a trained security guard.
A minute later, the opportunity I was looking for had arrived. I rushed towards the woman and punched her as hard as I could.
"Argh!" She fell to her knees, knocked out, even if I slightly missed my punch.
“Let's get inside you fast, now..." I crouched and quickly kissed her before she got her bearings back, sending my body inside hers.
I started to dissolve inside the woman's body, but, unlike last night with Tori, I knew what was about to come. After a moment, I felt myself in control of her, and felt all the pain from the punch I threw at her.
I stood up, holding my jaw. "Oww... I really punched her hard..." I tried to dismiss it and went to check on Tori. "Let's see how's Tori."
She came back to her senses shortly after and stood up as well. “My head… W-where am I?” She looked around, confused.
She doesn't remember anything? I'll tell her a lie, then. "I found you **** here."
"What the fuck am I doing in a forest?" She asked.
"I don't know, but if you're feeling better, you should follow the path there to get back to the city." I pointed towards the path, but the opposite side to the one leading to the castle.
She was visibly very lost, but didn't say anything, which I found surprising considering her usual temper. "Okay..."
I watched her leave, to make sure that she was indeed heading towards the city.
Once she was out of view, I smiled. "Well, my hosts not remembering anything will make things easier for me."
I looked at my hand and clenched it a few times. "I won't need to worry when I'll switch out of you."
Harper. That was her name. A young but effective security guard working for a private company. Her company was hired by a billionaire for a top-secret task, but Harper knew nothing of it. She was the kind of person to follow orders without asking questions.
I rested a hand on my wide hips and smirked. "Heh, I can't wait to learn what this secret task is."
I walked back to the castle, trying to hide my excitement behind Harper's usual bored face. I learned, thanks to her memories, that they were inspecting the forest since I broke in last night.
I'm breaking in again, and this time, I don't even need to hide. I chuckled internally, touching the face I was hiding behind.
The castle was fairly well-guarded, and had some areas that were only accessible to the billionaire, the chief of security, and the lead scientist. As the billionaire was apparently absent tonight, it left me with the choice to either possess Harper's boss or the scientist if I wanted to get to these restricted areas.
As I was getting closer, I saw one of the grunts guarding the entrance, a man called Gillian. I remembered him, he was the one guarding the warehouse. And doing a bad job at it. Harper was higher-ranked than him, so I was confident that I could easily fool him.
"Gillian, report!"
He immediately made a military salute. "Nothing to report, ma'am. It's been quiet as usual."
"As quiet as when the intruder sneaked past you last night?" I asked in Harper's mocking tone.
"..." He looked away without saying anything.
I gathered from Harper's memories that he got punished since I managed to sneak in despite his presence.
"Keep your eyes open, Gillian. Don't slack off again."
"Y-yes, ma'am."
I smiled. "Good."
I walked past the gates and entered the main garden. It was huge and really beautiful, even with the wild flowers growing everywhere.
Walking through it gave me chills for some reason.
I... feel like I'm... being watched.
I didn't like this feeling, and walked faster. As soon as I reached the entrance, this feeling stopped."
Going inside, I observed my surroundings. It's much better decorated than what I first thought. The interior was well-furnished. The guy had some expensive tastes. He's a billionaire, after all... They all like to show off…
Now that I was inside, I had two possibilities: I could try to possess the chief of security, Liliana, or the head scientist, Kira. Liliana was often in her office, but she was a strong fighter, stronger than Harper. Even with the injury she suffered from years ago, ending her former career in the police, she could still put up a serious fight. She would most likely not suspect anything coming from me, though, considering that Harper and Liliana were fairly close.
Kira meanwhile was often on her own, she hated to be bothered for no reason and preferred to focus on her research. She was the woman I followed that night. Harper had a very low opinion of her, though. She was a very apathetic person, cold and uncaring. And the memories I had of her when I listened in on the conversation she had with the boss only confirmed it.
Hmm, which one should I go with…?
Which person should I possess?
