Chapter 26 by Verdant_Hatchling Verdant_Hatchling

What happened next?

A big splash.

As he willed it, a mighty surge of water burst forth from the Trident in his grasp, nearly slipping free from even his grip. It was truly torrential.

The **** was utterly destructive, Damon was sure it would harm him massively after mere seconds of exposure to it, and that was completely disregarding its attribute.

Against him, it’d be an immense threat, but in his arsenal, Damon was ecstatic.

Currently feeling a high like no other, he accepted the second quest of the Isekai Odyssey Expansion, ready to do some damage.

“That’ll do.” Damon, enamored at the chance to test his might, began to dissipate in the familiar blinding light.

As he regained his sight from the light, Damon implemented his routine, creating over a thousand spherical constructs, lifting them with Omnikinesis, and shooting them in every direction at immense speeds, and using Partial Omniscience to witness the newly visible areas.

After roughly an hour, Damon grinned, morphing his form down to a reasonable fifteen feet tall, hiding his still mighty horns from sight, though keeping the scales covering his form.

After preparing, he teleported into the newly discovered chambers of the Midnight Council.

Who upon seeing him, readied weapons for combat against the unknown entrant.

But Damon was calm, readily explaining himself in a steady tone, “I am Damon Steel, Dragonkin from another world, summoned to aid in your fight against the unending destruction wrought by the Order of icy Dominion. Please refrain from attacking, I don’t wish to harm you.” His hands were together, resting lackadaisically at his sides.

The mighty Council consisted of eighteen members, who each were extremely proficient in many skills, though only one who was capable of divination magic to a degree to grant them True Sight.

Lorelai Fanethriel, an Elven Archmage of high renown, had slaved for her thousands of years of life to master her diverse set of skills, but she was most adept at divination.

This specific fact led to her being the only one present with the ability to see through what was technically an illusion to this world's magic.

Her eyes bore witness to the colossal form of the untransformed Damon, as the one true Dragon King, which even he was unaware of.

This mighty form was thousands of feet tall, it emanated an aura of both life and ****, a torrential blaze of eternal flames could be felt within the absurd maw of the petrifying being before her.

Luckily, she felt no deceit in his words of his intentions, though he could just be better at lying.

As her throat was instantly desiccated, she created a small surge of water to flow into her golden chalice, before taking a long sip.

She wisely chose not to inform the others of the terrifying entity he truly was, hoping that his intentions to help were genuine.

But what he said next chilled her to her core.

“I am being genuine. I swear.” Damon stared straight into the eyes of Lorelai.

She gulped, suddenly afraid to think, but she, again, felt no deceit within his words.

But while she was thinking deeply, the craziest thing happened.

Her True Sight’s perspective changed with his words.

The mayhem and destruction of the Dragon before was altered, and after a moment, his being was similar to what the illusion depicted him as, though it was also thousands of feet tall. This one, though, was imbued with an immensely holy light and a mighty divine flame.

She smiled, and was ready to accept his help.

She closed her eyes, and as she was thinking, she had an abrupt premonition, brought about by her Greater Foresight spell.

She was shown a battlefield littered with corpses, but mostly of the evil Order, and she saw herself beside the others of the Council, bringing forth a period of peace and prosperity!

But then, he left. And the war returned, and the Council was slowly whittled down, swift deaths among the more merciful fates, though few were granted them.

But then, her vision went back. Back to before he left.

She was shown the world if he stayed.

The peace and prosperity would never end, any wars were extinguished quickly and without the suffering of innocent lives.

But then it shifted to a slightly uncomfortable degree.

She watched, as she was wed to Damon Steel, and then it shifted. She was soaring through the skies, in his arms, completely safe, completely at peace, feeling joy and love for the first time in her over two thousand years of life.

Then it shifted again, and what she saw was completely shocking, but she was also wonderstruck, and even happier than before.

What did she see?
