Chapter 27 by Verdant_Hatchling Verdant_Hatchling

What did she see?

A wholesome view she wholeheartedly desired to come to pass.

Lorelai was standing before a mirror, and as she was looking at herself, an unfamiliar bump upon her belly made her breathing hasten, and before she could calm herself, something amazing flashed past her eyes.

She was standing in a vast field, but meeting her view was a sheer cliff face, though what drew her attention far more than the drop, was the giggling tones of many children.

Her head slowly turned, finding remarkably familiar kids flying through the skies, no worry present in their faces. The children had draconic horns atop their heads, as well as tiny sets of leathery wings, with little scales covering their forms, protectively.

She had a happy smile on her face, as the image slowly passed.

Breaking free from the premonition, her Foresight spell ended, and she found herself woozy, the weapon she’d initially drawn clattering at her feet.

The other members of the Council were quick to assume it was because of Damon, each drawing their weapons for an attack on him.

As one Orcish War-Chief drew a grand axe from his back, he leapt towards Damon.

But before he could strike, Damon cast Temporal Stasis, leaving the Orc immobile, a sphere of frozen time encompassing him, completely.

Another Council member attempted to attack him, but Damon lifted the Stasis field, and launched it at the oblivious Lizardkin, freezing him, as well.

The other members were quick to charge at him, but he was quite done with the aggression towards him.

Damon cast Blood Bending, taking out the Blood Barrel, and an instant later, a torrent of ichor was flooding the Council chambers.

The experienced members within, were quickly overtaken by the flooding blood, before abruptly, the deluge was frozen solid.

Try their hardest as they might, the most they could do was free an arm, only for it to be recaptured instantly, then being inundated with even more ichor.

As this was all happening, Lorelai stood unaffected by the blood wave, completely untouched.

She raced to explain, “Calm down, my fellow members, my ailment was my own doing. I performed divination magic to peer into the possible futures, and the best outcome was with this man's aid.” And more, but she couldn’t say it while remaining on her feet.

Damon, after feeling the resistance dying down, had the blood take them to their seats, before it withdrew into the Barrel.

He then released the ones he had frozen in time, who had to be calmed down, not having been talked down, yet.

The Council returned to their seated positions, and began the discussions.

After an hour of communication, the Council was still apologizing for their actions, as well as admiring his capabilities.

Damon was quite happy for the praise, and as the talking continued, they eventually moved on to the pertinent information.

The evil Order was growing ever stronger, and their council was spread ever more thin.

As he was listening, Damon began drawing blood from the Barrel, though this time it was in a microscopic thread, spreading infinitely, going through miniscule portals, right into the throne room of the Order of Icy Dominion.

Damon could see a slightly withered figure upon the throne. Though the figure was shockingly large.

This titanic, specially made, throne was holding the form of the over two hundred foot tall Frost Gargantua, a greater race of Frost Giants, much closer to their deity of origin.

Returning to the conversation, Damon raised a question, “If I were to Kill the Monarch Of Icy Dominion, would the battles you face be dealt with?”

The gathered members of the Council were dumbfounded, simply stating, “Well, yes, if you were to kill him, it would surely end his torment. But he is far too powerful to **** him head on.”

Damon smiled a crooked grin, before opening a portal, and gazing at Lorelai, telling her, “I’ll be back in a minute, don’t worry.” Then, he jumped in the portal.

Lorelai was left sitting in her chair, comfy as it was, she was quite uncomfortable, as the other members of the Council ignored his departure to gawk at her.

She was left stuttering, a heavy blush overtaking her once calm demeanor, and tried to explain herself, though she failed, “It was, just… A vision.” Her speech trailed off as she teleported away to her personal chambers, leaving her fellow Council members to gawk at her embarrassment.

As she was laying atop her lush bed, Lorelai Fanethriel was curled into a ball, embarrassed to an extent she’d never felt before, not that she’d been embarrassed before, but regardless, she knew that he’d said that to her directly.

Would he be back for her? Is that what he meant? She was left hoping that was the case, as she was squealing in delight.

What’s Damon doing?
