Before the Bell
Sam Wayne glanced up from his phone as somebody walked up to him, scowling. Sam’s day always got worse when this certain somebody was scowling, and unfortunately, Skylar Wayne scowled a lot. Especially around Sam.
“What is it now?” Sam sighed, glancing up and down his twin sister’s body. Skylar was wearing a green crop top today, one that showed off a lot of her flat tanned stomach, with a designer black jacket on covering her arms from the autumn chill. On her lower half was a pair of tight light blue jeans. Skylar’s big tits stretched out that crop top considerably, which was Skylar’s fault, as she hadn’t gotten rid of her tops she’d worn before whatever freak late blossom thing had happened to her boobs.
“Your dickhead friend keeps trying to talk to me.” Skylar fumed as she opened her locker and grabbed one of the textbooks she refused to take home.
“You’ll have to clarify. You think all my friends are dickheads.” Sam said mildly, and Skylar glared at him.
“Maybe that says something about your choice of friend, huh, Sammy?” Skylar snapped. “And anyways, I mean the king dickhead, Charlie.”
Sam winced. Charlie Tower was indeed a difficult person to get along with. They were both popular rich kids who’d just kind of naturally wound up in the same circles. Skylar hated his guts, but Sam and Charlie had been friends since elementary school. Never best friends or anything like that, but they were pretty decently close friends.
“Why does him trying to talk to you piss you off so much?” Sam asked, confused.
“Because he doesn’t just wanna talk, he wants to fuck me.” Skylar rolled her green eyes.
Sam sighed. “Then just tell him you’re dating Jace and get over it. Charlie wants to fuck a bunch of girls.”
“I’m not dating Jace!” Skylar protested. “We’re just friends.”
“I’ve never seen you invite any other guy friends over for family dinner. Or let them spend the night, for sure.” Sam pointed out.
“At least I have friends. All you have is dickhead tagalongs.” Skylar snapped.
“Didn’t have a comeback, huh?” Sam grinned. “Look, Sky, there’s nothing wrong with being interested in somebody.”
“I’m not interested in Jace! Just tell Charlie to leave me the fuck alone.” Skylar snarled, slammed her locker closed, and stormed off down the hallway. Sam shook his head after her retreating form.
He turned his head interestedly as a girl walked past though, and he gave her his most charming smile.
“Hey, do I know you? I haven’t seen you around before.” Sam grinned, falling into step with her.
“Well, I’ve only been here a few weeks.” the girl admitted, blushing lightly under Sam’s scrutiny.
“Oh, really? So, you’re new in town?” Sam raised an eyebrow.
“Yup.” she nodded. “Just moved here from Chestnut Springs.”
The girl was beautiful, with black hair, a gorgeous smile, vivid green eyes, along with a slender fit body and some incredibly perky small breasts. There was a certain… spiritedness to her, a sort of gleam in her eyes that Sam found incredibly alluring.
“Well, my name is Sam Wayne. If you need someone to show you around town a bit, just let me know.” he grinned.
“My name’s Savannah Winchester. Hey, same initials!” the girl, Savannah, laughed. “I actually think your sister showed my brother around town, too.”
“Your brother?” Sam asked blankly. Vaguely, he remembered Skylar and Amy bringing this boy with black hair and green eyes into the back of his car. He had been sitting up front with Isabelle, trying to score. That had been before she told him she didn’t want to keep doing anything, and almost completely ghosted him.
“Yeah, Jimm-, uh, James.” Savannah corrected herself.
“James, that’s right. Yeah, I drove him around for that tour.” Sam nodded.
“Oh, really?” Savannah raised her eyebrows.
“Yeah. If I had known he had such a beautiful sister, I’d have told him to invite you along, too.” Sam smiled. Savannah’s smile turned a bit flirtier, and Sam felt excitement bubble up.
“Well, if I had known James was getting a tour from such a handsome driver, I’d have tagged along.” Savannah teased. Sam opened his mouth to reply, but the bell rang, cutting him off.
“Oops, I gotta go. See you around, my fellow SW.” Savannah winked, and she slipped off down the hallway, leaving Sam standing there looking after her, grinning.
It had been a bit of a dry spell for him since Isabelle had ditched him, but this girl, Savanah… she’d definitely rekindled his interest in playing around.
He would definitely be seeing more of Savannah Winchester, he promised himself.
———
Valerie Barnes’ mind was elsewhere, but she was doing her best to focus on what her best friend was telling her.
Said best friend, Mina Park, was holding her trusty notepad, going over the notes she’d gathered since the last debrief. Mina was the one behind the unofficial gossip website for Violet River High, called the Riverbed. Mina also worked on the school newspaper, but she was only a photographer there, and Mina much preferred doing the stories. Mina’s brown hair was tied back today, and she wore a loose sweater that obscured most of her large breasts. The black leggings on her lower half, though, did nothing to hide her cute, perky ass.
“And that’s why I’m pretty sure that Principal Benson is fucking Ms. Crowell.” Mina finished, shutting her notepad. Her dark eyes were proud and pleased at the result of her research.
“Ms. Crowell?” Val repeated, stunned. “There’s no way. She’s so sweet.”
“I know, I love her computer class.” Mina agreed. “The facts don’t lie, though. The frequently haphazardly buttoned shirt, Principal Benson’s repeated visits at the end of the school day, and she always looks a little too interested at school assemblies. Nobody can be that interested in one of his speeches.”
“Little bit of conjecture there at the end, don’t you think?” Val raised an eyebrow. Mina tapped the end of her pen against her lips.
“Good point.” Mina nodded, crossing out the part about Ms. Crowell’s interest in speeches.
“Thanks.” Val replied a little absently, her eyes glancing up when she saw a blonde guy walking down the hallway, but it was just Sam Wayne pestering Savannah, from her art class. She had half a mind to try and save Savannah from the infamous rich playboy, but Savannah didn’t look all that bothered by his attention, so Val decided against it.
“You’re still hung up on Jace, huh?” Mina asked sympathetically. Val glanced at her best friend, her blue eyes narrowing.
“No, why would you think that?” Val lied smoothly.
“Well, you’ve been consistently glancing up hopefully every time somebody blonde walks past, then immediately looking frustrated when it’s not who you thought it was. I can only assume you’re waiting for Jace, considering he’s the only blonde guy I know of that you drool over.” Mina replied.
“Sometimes, I really fucking hate how observant you are.” Val muttered. “Didn’t I make you promise not to analyze me?”
“I can’t help it.” Mina apologized. “But why are you so hung up on Jace today?”
“Yesterday, I got really angry with him and basically yelled at him in art class.” Val sighed.
“Oh, I know that.” Mina nodded.
“How could you possibly know that?” Val groaned.
“I had an anonymous informant.” Mina cleared her throat.
Val rolled her eyes. “Whatever. But yeah, that happened, and since then, I dunno. I don’t know if I regret it, or regret not doing it sooner, or… I don’t know. I’m a mess.”
“Right. And I suppose him dating Ms. Vane can’t be helping matters, either.” Mina nodded sympathetically.
“Yeah, I- wait, how do you know that?” Val demanded.
“I’m sorry, have you met your idiot Jace Holland? I don’t think he can keep a secret about anything ever in his entire life. I know so much about him, Valerie. So much.” Mina shook her head. “The things I could tell you…”
“Well, don’t! Also, he’s not my idiot. He’s not my anything. He’s made that very clear.” Val sighed, glancing down.
“But… wasn’t he miserable in art class after you told him off?” Mina raised an eyebrow.
“Huh?” Val blinked.
“You didn’t watch him after you did all that?” Mina’s mouth fell open.
“No! I sat facing away from him. I didn’t trust myself not to yell or cry or, I dunno, kiss him right there.” Val frowned.
“Oh, well, according to my anonymous informant, he was sitting there looking sad the whole rest of the class.” Mina said, flipping a few pages back in her notepad.
“Wait, did you take notes about that?” Val gaped.
“I had to! I have to maintain a strict non-bias when it comes to research for the Riverbed.” Mina protested. “Besides, it was kind of interesting stuff, I didn’t want it to be forgotten.”
“My life is not ‘interesting stuff’, Mina!” Val bemoaned for the millionth time in their friendship.
“I wasn’t gonna put it on the site!” Mina exclaimed. “Well… unless it was a really quiet week and I didn’t have anything else to post. You know I need to post weekly to keep viewership numbers up.”
“God, Mina. I can’t tell you anything, can I?” Val sighed.
“I mean… you telling me or not doesn’t really affect whether or not I know about it.” Mina ventured, and Val buried her face in her hands just as the bell rang.
———
Daisy Holland glanced up from her task of grading assignments when her mentor walked into the classroom, yawning and holding a cup of coffee.
“Can’t this week just be over already?” Jessica West sighed, rubbing her dark green eyes sleepily.
“It’s Tuesday.” Daisy grinned. Jessica groaned in disappointment.
“Not even hump day.” Jessica lamented. “How’s grading papers going?”
“It’s going alright. I left Jace’s for you, like you told me to.” Daisy said.
“Thank you. It’s not that I don’t trust you, it’s just the bias of it might upset other students.” Jessica explained.
“Oh, I understand.” Daisy nodded.
Jessica dropped into her desk chair with a sigh, rubbing her forehead with her fingers.
“Rough night?” Daisy grinned, and Jessica gave her student teacher a wry look.
“I might have gotten a little too wild for a Monday night.” Jessica admitted. Daisy laughed.
“Oh, I understand. My friend Ariel dragged me out to a party last night.” Daisy nodded. “Her and the rest of the college students are living it up right now, only having online assignments and such while HSU is getting the emergency renovations.”
“Bet you’re regretting this whole student teacher thing now, huh?” Jessica chuckled. “It sounded like a fun way to get out of class but now it’s more work than anybody else is doing.”
Daisy shrugged. “I don’t half mind it. I do wanna be a teacher some day, so I’m enjoying the experience.”
Jessica smiled at Daisy, and Daisy rose to her feet, approaching her mentor’s desk. Jessica wore a tight button up dark green blouse today, one unbuttoned enough to show off her pale, creamy cleavage. The older woman’s dark hair was as lustrous and wavy as ever, and her dark green eyes were playful.
“Well, I for one, am very glad to have you, Daisy.” Jessica smiled, and she reached out to grab Daisy’s hand, squeezing it. Daisy smiled back, squeezing Jessica’s hand.
“Am I interrupting?” a deep voice said, and Daisy and Jessica both turned to see Mr. Calhoun standing in the doorway, looking curiously at the women’s joined hands.
“No, not at all. How can I help you, Marcus?” Jessica inquired.
“I’m actually here to speak with the lovely Ms. Holland this morning.” Calhoun tipped his head towards a surprised Daisy.
“Oh, well, how can I help you, then, sir?” Daisy asked.
“Could we speak in the hallway?” Calhoun asked.
“Oh, you two can have the room.” Jessica shook her head. “I’ll go visit Kayla and see how her morning is going.”
Jessica rose to her feet, giving Daisy a look that the tanned blonde couldn’t identify, before she swept past and out the door. Calhoun came over towards Daisy, sitting down on one of the tables while Daisy turned to face him, leaned back against Jessica’s desk.
“Is something wrong?” Daisy asked, confused.
“No, nothing’s wrong. Principal Benson, in his infinite wisdom, has made some… alterations to my existing plans for the fundraiser. As such, I need some more supervisors for the students, considering they’re going to be functioning in smaller groups than last time. I just wanted to see if you were willing to be a full supervisor for this event.” Calhoun explained.
“Oh! Sure, I think I can wrangle some teenagers.” Daisy shrugged. “What kind of changes did Principal Benson make?”
“He thought, for example, that your little brother, Ms. Prescott, and Ms. Wayne on the same team was a bit of an unfair advantage, given their combined popularity.” Calhoun said. “He wants to score students individually now, but also somehow incorporate team bonding. His ideas are a half-baked mess, and I’m left to figure out how to string them together.”
“So teams are re-shuffling after the first event? That seems like a severe lack of planning on his part.” Daisy frowned.
“Indeed.” Calhoun sighed. “But, for now, I have to do as he says.”
“Well, I’m happy to help however I can, sir.” Daisy said brightly.
A grin spread across Calhoun’s face, and he nodded. “I’m sure you are. Your mother was the exact same way.”
There was a certain heat in Calhoun’s gaze, one which Daisy knew very well as lust. So, Mr. Calhoun had a thing for Daisy and Danielle, huh? Well, a little bit of teasing never hurt.
Daisy leaned forward casually, knowing how that created plenty of cleavage in the top she was wearing.
“My mother and I are definitely both very good helpers.” Daisy smirked, enjoying the look on the older man’s face.
“So you are.” he murmured, looking up at her.
The bell rang, suddenly, and Calhoun gave a sigh of what seemed like regret as he stood up.
“I’ll let you know more about which students you’ll be supervising either later this week or the start of next. I’ve yet to announce these new changes, so please keep them quiet until I’ve fully figured out how I’m going to make this second event work.” Calhoun explained.
“I’ll keep it quiet.” Daisy nodded.
“That’s good to hear. Now, I must be going, I’ve got a class to teach.” Calhoun said, and he headed out of the classroom, leaving Daisy alone in the room.
