Chapter 17 by Ai-R Ai-R

What's next?

Long Purple Hair → Cat Eared Headphones

I feel like I need to nurse a headache, but it's already fading. Looking at Penny's excited expression, I decide to play a bit of a prank on her and mess with her 'long dress' - only a gamer girl would call that "long" anyway - and replace it with... How about some 'cat eared headphones'? I know just the pair, even: There's this one set she allegedly wouldn't stop complaining about for, like, five streams. Something about a faulty order followed by a faulty replacement? Whatever. I execute the change and...

...Penny's dress seems to stay pretty much exactly the same, minus some very minor stylistic choices here and there. I realize with a start that I accidentally targeted her hair instead of her dress as it lightens until it's nearly white. Her eyes turn from purple to amber-gold, and as a pair of distinctly ordinary looking headphones appear on her head... a pair of cat ears sprout from behind them!

I feel like maybe I should have seen that coming? But this power - whatever it is - has been so intuitive so far... Well. It's surely not that big a deal, though I should probably be more careful to hit the correct phrase in the future, and I bet it helps her gain viewers, so... now what?

(gamer girl, excited step sister, average build, cat eared headphones, tidy ponytail, hands on her hips, long dress, tabletop nerd outfit, purse, standing on the doorstep)

[AN: As before, now that she's no longer his mother the retro has stopped taking effect, leaving Paul free to properly review the changes as they occur.]

[AN 2: The "misgeneration" here is that I accidentally replaced 'long purple hair' instead of 'long dress.' This is why her hair lightened and her eyes changed color. And the dress stuck around.]
