You stare silently for a few seconds, before you decide it’s time for the next part of your reaction.

“And…?”, you say.

You would be appreciative of Kate’s chest moving closer as she sat up slightly, if it hadn’t been preceded by another sound from above her neck.

“‘And?’, she shouts, clearly offended.

“Yeah,” you tell her. “We met earlier, and we made plans for further interactions. In the meantime, you tell me that the well-known man in your life is going to be literally out of the picture for days.

I come to meet you in a hotel room, and I’m supposed to be okay with you simply lying on the bed in one set of lingerie that, for all I know, there are dozens of pictures of you wearing all over the Internet?!”

Finally, she puts it plainly. “What do you mean?!”, she asks.

You answer her quickly.

“I mean that you better have a closet worth of other things you plan to wear, or you’re expecting me to be what goes inside of the closet,” you tell her honestly.
