A Monster

From the train car Dana jumped landing in a cliche superhero pose. No longer inhibited by clothes Dana broke into a sprint running faster than any person. With no trains filling them with deafening noise all she could hear were the sounds of her bare feet slapping against the floor. Suddenly the roar of an unknown entity echoed through the tunnel.

The noise became too unbearable forcing Dana to stop running. “Argh!”, Dana groaned as she covered her ears, “What is that?!”, Dana asked herself. As quickly as the roar arrived it left leaving Dana in silence. “I gotta get going whatever is up ahead is dangerous.” Dana broke into a sprint running faster than before.

Finally Dana arrived at the scene of the crime. She couldn’t believe it the subway station was completely destroyed, the exits to the city had completely collapsed and one of the trains had been completely destroyed.

“What happened here?”, Dana asked.

Suddenly the monstrous roar returned. Quickly Dana dove behind a pile of debris as out of the other end of the subway tunnel a monster emerged. It was a dirty shade of green, with four legs spider-like legs as well as what looked to be two small arms held tight against its chest.

The monster scavenged the destroyed station until it let out another roar. Its arms which were held tight to its chest shot out into the wrecked subway car. It just kept extending until finally it stopped suddenly the sounds of screams were heard as the monster slowly retracted its arms.

Dana could only look in shock as the monster dragged a man out of the train, kicking and screaming. “No, no please!”, the man begged as the monster scurried back into the darkness.

“I…I know this monster.”, Dana whispered shocked at what she said.
