Chapter 1369 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Inspect the mysterious home.

In all ways, it appears like an ordinary living room. It isn't even all that large. You turn at the sound of the door creaking closed. With a mumble, the skeleton walks away from the entrance to the cellar and makes his way to a sofa nearby. He lets out a long, exhausted sigh as he lays back for a moment, tapping the back of his skull against the wall. He then picks up a book sitting next to him, openings it up to the bookmark, and begins to read.

It smells like **** in here.

Leaning near the door is an ornate staff with a curved moon head. Dangling by a rope within the crescent of the moon is the skeleton of a rat. Otherwise, it feels as if you're in an ordinary home, but by your calculations, you must be way out in the middle of nowhere, likely somewhere east or southeast of Silverleaf. The entire south of Brumberg you've hardly seen, besides the one time you used Bunny Hop to bring your party close to Demon King Muian's old underground lair. It feels strange to be able to walk around so freely within full sight of the skeletal man, but he can't see or hear anything you do. He can't smell you either, though you're not certain if he has that sense anyway. You make your way to the window by the front door and peer out with an immediate sense of terror.

The home seems to be nestled between hills and trees, but you can see what lurks out there rather clearly. There are tons of undead. Skeletons, zombies, larger risen monsters, surround the area. You're in the cottage of a lich.

You look back to the man reading on the couch. Not all that cool of a lich though. Shouldn't he be living in some kind of dark castle or ancient temple? I guess the only other one I've met was some weird creep in a dungeon, and we kicked his ass thanks to Nyllia. Maybe liches in this world aren't necessarily impressive. Though the last one we fought didn't have nearly this many servants.

You spend a solid amount of time scoping the area out, peering through each window you can find in an attempt to figure out where you might be on a map. Finally, through the blinds of a window above the kitchen counter, something that looks like it hasn't been used in eons, you see a tall white tree. Past that, a rocky hill, though despite the stony soil, some beautiful violet flowers have sprouted to life. You wonder if they may be some sort of poisonous plant which grows in places of potent undeath. Either that, or the lich fancies gardening.

Another entrance to the tunnel. It's guarded by a lich, but this is still a fantastic find. That means we've got the entrance all the way back in Tolis, the one below Dragonhide Manor in Avana, and now this one. There's gotta be one at the end too, which would make four. The more the merrier. We're gonna take you down on all sides, David.

Its time to descend back into the darkness, however. You need to find where the tunnel leads. Quietly, you open the door to the cellar again and let it shut before proceeding down the creaky steps. The sound of the insectrin mask any noises the staircase makes, thankfully. You tiptoe around the partying ants.

Though as you do, your eyes widen as one bumps into your legs. Quickly, you leap towards where you know the invisible entrance is, but when you turn around, you see the one in question just rolling on the floor.

Another lays on top of her. She peers down into her eyes and mumbles, "You're so pretty."

"H-Hey," the other stutters out. "We're like sisters. This is forbidden."

"I keep telling you that's not how we work. We aren't all related or something!"

"But we were all made the same way."

"Everyone was made the same way."

"That's not what I mean!"

Letting them argue amongst each other, you phase through the stone and climb your way back down into the tunnel.

What do you do?
