Chapter 1370 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Continue in the dark.

Potion of Dark Sight, one vial remaining. Elixir of No Finding, enough for a few more days depending on how often you need it. You begin to creep along visible now on occasion, though you keep the beautiful--though you can't currently see it--vial squeezed in your hand just in case. You continue for awhile, but it isn't that long before you hear something making its way down from the way you're headed.

You sip the elixir and press up against the wall.

The rumbling is rather unnerving. Soon, you see the source. It's a number of copper spheres with the same piercing cyan eyes you're used to seeing. Elok's constructs roll down the tunnel, and you watch as they make their way straight past you. They don't even stop for a moment. Some are merely rolling balls, while others are combined in the shape of cobras.

They're gone as quickly as they came.

You proceed, doing as you were before, though you continue to resist drinking down your dark sight potion just in case. You spend the rest of the day moving in the dark, and the next as well. At this point, you do start to grow concerned for your mental well-being. There's no telling what your party members are thinking as well. You dare not use the Sending Stone, nor do you think you even can given the elixir's effects. The end has to be near, however. The tunnel can't go on forever. You hope not at least. You've been down here so long that you've hardly noticed the gradual transition of your abilities to traverse it. You don't even think about where you step now. You don't use the wall as guidance. Despite being unable to see, you walk swiftly without tripping or needing to find your bearings.

Something finally begins to happen. You've been so terribly bored down here, that the sound of anything stirs your excitement. You can't discern what it is, but there's movement, speaking, and more, all coming from farther down the tunnel, but the source feels so close given how long you've been travelling.

There it is.

At the end of the great tunnel beneath Tivera, there's a huge steel wall. You see a pair of double doors which appear so small by comparison. After placing your hand against the cold metal, you give it a nudge, but it doesn't even move the tiniest amount. You try again, but to no avail. There is no keyhole or knob. Clearly, this is the work of Elok Daven's artificer abilities. If he can make arcane robots, he can make a solid security door. It may open only be the press of a button or flick of a switch. But you've come this far, so you refuse to give up.

It's just a door. The other side likely looks exactly the same. Hardly a soul would ever make it this far, so it can't be super thick either. I just have to... envision the other side. Picture the wall from the opposite point of view.

You breathe in and out slowly. As you slide your fingers up and down the door, you try and tap into your Kitty Sense as well. You use every mental tool you can muster. Then you hesitantly squat. You aren't certain what'll happen if you mess this up, but you can't think that way. Instead, you picture only what the other side should look like.

One... Two...

Bunny Hop!

You thrust yourself into the door, but instead of slamming against metal, space warps around you, and you're snapped back into place like you're holding onto an elastic band. You feel a pain through your body as you're slammed down against the floor, as if gravity for a moment was amped up twentyfold. You groan, though no sound escapes your lips. You've felt something like this before. Some kind of magic is messing with your Bunny Hop, forcing you right back down.

However, you aren't in the same spot as before. You slowly stand back up and step back, leaning against the same doorway, but now from the other side. You made it. It hurt, and it barely worked, but you made it. After taking a moment to breathe, you rub your aching chest and proceed forwards, now with the unsettling thought that you may not be able to escape so easily.

Ahead, there's a massive chamber. The lights are blinding after how long you've been in the darkness of the tunnel.

What do you do?
