Matrix Reconnected

Machines rule the human race. In a war long ago against metal and biological, the world has been burnt by humans. In a final effort in a losing war, the humans launched their greatest weapon in an attempt to wipe out their own creation. It didn’t work. They ruined the surface of the world, and humans fled underground to hide from the seemingly unbeatable enemy.

The destruction of the humans has **** the machines to adapt. Machines no longer can use solar, but have found a workaround. Growing humans en masse in fields, they use their biological forefathers as batteries to fuel them until the nuclear winter stops. They’ve created a perfect simulation for the humans to increase their longevity.

This simulation is called the Matrix.

Long ago a single man woke up and realized the world around them wasn’t real. They called this man the Chosen One. He could alter the Matrix to his will and wake those who were sleeping. He started a new war with the machines. One inside their own creation.

The Chosen One died, but predicted his return. His followers dive back into the Matrix to search for him and save him from the machines.

This is where your story starts. You are part of a crew. You dive into the Matrix, you risk your life, eat slop, sleep in cold beds, and all for what? Now you have decided that things will change.
