Chapter 19 by DangerSloth DangerSloth

What's next?

In a 'familiar' place

Hermione Granger had Turned the Time Turner, and instantly she was now in another time and another world. This sort of thing had become routine. She had done it 3 hundred times, before she decided counting it was a frivolous effort. A year ago she had been given a mission by Dumbledore to use the time turner to save Harry Potter from an early ****. But after a few failures she found with each use the timeline she had originally came from changed. Be it misfunction of the Time Turner, or a feature the result ended the same.

Details were always different, students of Hogwarts, teachers, and even details in history were different. Maybe this time would be the right one. Hermione's eyes looked around herself.

She knew instantly she was again in the Great Hall. Sitting beside Ron and Harry. There was a great comfort being beside these two. She had seen both die so many times that seeing them both happy and eating had become one of her favorite sights. Both were stuffing their faces right now.

She looked for Idius Halfhwit, but after a minute of searching she realized there was no such person in this timeline. Yet, there seemed to be a few other students that she had never seen before.

"Are you alright," said Harry to his friend?

"I didn't think you would be this upset about Quidditch being canceled too."

They must have just announced that Quiditch this year was not going to happen. Hermione realized that she had entered the timeline right when they were going to announce the Triwizard Tournament. Which meant that Mad Eye Moody was about to be introduced as well.

"It's a waste of time," said Hermione, "but I did look forward to cheering you all on Harry." Harry smiled at her, and all three turned their attention to a Dark haired wizard standing where Dumbledore should have been. Was Dumbledore sick or late? Either way, Professor Snape was standing at the head of the table staring at students in front of him with a familiar frown. With a single hand raise he hushed the entire room.

"It is my pleasure, to announce a positive change this year at Hogwarts --"

He sounded as dramatic as ever, the cadence of his words drawing more interest.

The doors of the Great Hall burst open like thunder, as Hermione knew well and expected. She was the only one in the entire Hall who took a drink of her juice instead of turning to face the doors.

"Holy Hell," said Ron! Hermione basked in the fact that she wasn't surprised, but when she finally turned she saw something very different about the timeline.
